One way all Americans can fight terror
Warning: this is a rant.

I'm a Muslim. I am tolerant of others, whether they believe in God(s) or if they have no belief, because judgement is for God alone, not me. But when I go to other political discussion boards, again and again I see intolerance towards Islam. I read posts that perport to quote the Qur'an that do not, or only use selected words of verses to perpetuate lies about Islam and what it is. I am sick of being told that I like to kill anyone who is not Muslim 'because your Bible tells you do'. I'm sick of reading posts that suggest that all Muslims should be converted to Christianity or shot. I'm tired of being called names and told I'm evil by people who don't even know me.

The way to stop terrorism in the world is to stop hate. The way to stop hate is to learn and try to understand others and other people's points of view. If any of you DUers go to a board where they bash Islam, saying Muslims are all terrorists, etc, etc, please tell them to go to some sources and read the truth about Islam. Here's a partial list of some sites they might find enlightening:

Thanks for listening to my rant.

2. Thanks for ranting. I have much to
learn about Islam, but my instincts already were in the area of what you have said.

5. Thank you one and all
You make me have hope in human nature. Some have said that I shouldn't go to boards where people are spewing hate. But I answer, "Who will refute their lies?" I am very glad that I can come here, my haven, where people are willing to listen and learn about other people other cultures, other faiths.

7. Well said. But one needs an enemy to convince the population
that spending trillions on "defense" is the right things to do. And most of the oil is in Islamic hands.

Then there is the other side of the coin - getting the Messiah to come back by extending Israel's borders.

The insane are running the aslyum. We need to have a world encompassing view that God created all people and loves each one equally and that God brought forth religious leaders to lead them back to God and that God loves each religion equally.

8. Check out the first link
I believe you'll find this lady's point of view. Especially view the blog on Belief-Disbelief, which is linked on that page. Some really good quotes from different faiths that are saying what you are saying.

9. Last summer I traveled to ...
last summer I traveled to Malaysia. A wonderful, friendly, beautiful Muslim country. Malaysia and the people I encountered were about as far from Taliban ruled Afghanistan as anyone can get. I fear all extremists. No man or woman of the Islamic faith has ever given me a reason to fear or hate them. Hate is it's own faith, a very dark energy that lives in the heart of someone under it's influence.

10. Violence only breeds more violence.
It is such a shame some people can't get that into their thick skull. :(
