Who needs analysis and reason in war when you have the Power of Prayer?
Bush asked the troops to "Pray that the President and his advisers will seek God and his wisdom and not rely on their own understanding".

God ran this fiasco of a war. Don't blame the Clenis. Blame God for the disaster.

US soldiers in Iraq asked to pray for Bush
Last Update: Sunday, March 30, 2003. 2:55am (AEST)

They may be the ones facing danger on the battlefield, but US soldiers in Iraq are being asked to pray for President George W Bush.

Thousands of marines have been given a pamphlet called "A Christian's Duty," a mini prayer book which includes a tear-out section to be mailed to the White House pledging the soldier who sends it in has been praying for Bush.

"I have committed to pray for you, your family, your staff and our troops during this time of uncertainty and tumult. May God's peace be your guide," says the pledge, according to a journalist embedded with coalition forces.

The pamphlet, produced by a group called In Touch Ministries, offers a daily prayer to be made for the US president, a born-again Christian who likes to invoke his God in speeches.

Sunday's is "Pray that the President and his advisers will seek God and his wisdom daily and not rely on their own understanding".

Monday's reads "Pray that the President and his advisers will be strong and courageous to do what is right regardless of critics".

1. God says "Keep Me OUT of this"!
... omniscient, omnipotent?

I guess The Simpsons summed it up best:

"I never expected you to be in the same room!"

2. As a military member...

...it amazes me that they would think I could give a rat's ass if that pinhead squatting in the White House was blessed with an extra brain cell to keep the other one company.

Though I'm an atheist, it would seem far more reasonable to me that BushCo (and his fundie cronies) should instead be praying that my happy ass doesn't get shot up in his mistake for a foreign policy doctrine and become yet another statistic to be used against him this November.

Not that it will help -- I know Shrub has lost a huge percentage of what in the past used to be a Republican certainty: the military vote. Screw him, and all the bastards that helped get us into this mess (Repub and Dem alike -- I watched Fahrenheit 9/11 Friday, and many of the Dems were no better than the Repubs).

3. The Iraqi mother asking "Why have you deserted us, O God"
Powerful scene. I couldn't tell that there was much difference in her and Lila. I feel bad for everybody.

4. Shame, shame, SHAME on him for breaking one of the top 3 commandments.
To USE God is to violate and hold God in vain. Bush is USING God to justify his actions.

BAD!!! BAD!!! BAD!!!

Worse,...is that Bush is holding himself out as BEING God's "appointee", acting on His behalf in mass murdering an innocent people who did no harm to him,...breaking commandment numero uno!!!

That makes three strikes: thou shalt not hold any other God before Me, thou shalt not name God in vain, thou shalt not KILL.

Then, we add, thou shalt not bear false witness or covet others or "dishonor" parents,...

,...and,...does "being saved" equal a free ticket out of hell no matter what a person does against God and humanity?

I don't think so.
