I've been following a political thread on a non political board about the election. Those who are posting in favor of Bush are the most misinformed group of people imaginable. They are certain Iraq had WMD, we just have not found them yet, that Saddam was responsible for 9/11, the press just hasn't told us of the connections because the media are too liberal, and we have done more good in Iraq, through rebuilding the infrastructure, than the harm caused by the loss of lives.
When asked for proof they post links to World News Daily and News Max and quote Fox news. They think these are real news sources. In the end they always just say "the media are lying to you" when you try to disagree with them.
To me it's like the God argument. When you disagree with someone and they say "God says so" or "its in the Bible" it ends the discussion.
At least now I know why there are so many Bush supporters. They truly are brainwashed. And they are disturbed. It must be truly frightening to them to be living in a parallel universe.
David Brock was right. Ignoring the right wing noise machine is dangerous. But what can we do about it?

3. The Kuwaiti border security recently stopped a US |

convoy at the border, and upon inspection found nuclear materials being shipped INTO Iraq.
I think I got that information here in the Latest News forum, though I have no link at this time. It was reported in some Quatar newspaper. Sure could have been big news...

Radioactive metal being sold as scrap.
I didn't have any information on whether it was from a weapons program or from depleted uranium used, found and added to jack up the price for food and gas.
If there was anything to the story, ShrubCo would have been all over it to justify his continued reign over the US and Iraq.

2. Same here. I post on a "bipartisan" board. Some of the most foul |
|
mouthed, hatemongering critters you'd ever wanna hear from. They don't sound like they have much "moral clarity" to me (The Bush campaign's new slogan).
There's no discussing anything rational with them. When they don't have a substantive comment, which is usually, they just attack the poster: You leftie commie...blah blah blah. They just call names like kids in elementary school.
