Headspinning spin from the RW talk show machine:
"If we bail out of Iraq now we'll never have any credibility. The world will never trust us again!"

(Dallas. I think this was the Greg Knapp show. And even acknowledging that the war is somewhat FUBAR.)

HELLOOOOO MCFLY. The world may never trust us NOW because we INVADED a sovereign country based on a pack of trumped up lies like Germany trampling Czechoslovakia and Poland.

Most people in the world would understand the principle of, having committed a grievous error, both moral and strategic, acknowledging the error and cutting our own and everyone else's losses by withdrawing.
