Nader Supported by Republicans - reported on C-Span
Did anyone else see that segment this morning? I think it was on C-Span when they talk to the guy from the Hill or whatever it is. (Sorry it's my fiscal end of year so my brain's all scrambled today... rushing.)

He said that Nader had failed to get around some ballot loophole which says that if you can get 1000 people in one room together to sign a petition, that you can get on the ballot. Republicans apparently circulated petitions and said if they want to help bush, they should support Nader. They still failed, though.

6. YES
Anyone still supporting that fool at this point is not really concerned about the election. They are, in essence, calling for the the destruction of the country.

5. how does one have respect for nadar
where is his integrity. that he wouldnt loudly and clearly say no thank you to the repugs puts him squarely in his own hypocrisy of the lack of integrity in the political system he so runs against.

where is there any validation for this man, with him not standing against this manipulation of the system

where is his honesty

8. I didn't see the segment, but something like this was
going on in Oregon.

Poor Nader. He castigated Gore for taking money from less than pure sources. Now Nader is caught taking money and help from Republicans.

By Nader's logic, no one should vote for Nader because he is less than pure. There is no difference between Nader and Bush.

9. I am so happy that the Greens did not endorse Nader
I think the Green party saved itself by refusing to endorse Nader

The Green party can now be a force for good

10. This Is No Surprise, Ma'am
Wrecker Nader is, as a matter of objective analysis, merely a tool of the Republican effort to suppress turn out to the polls on the left. All campaigns attempt both to boost turn out by their supporters, and depress turn out among their foes, since they aim for the greatest possible relative advantage in votes cast against their opponent. Anyone on the left who votes for Wrecker Nader will not be voting for Sen. Kerry, and will thus increase the value of votes cast for the Republican candidate, relative to Sen. Kerry.

11. Yeah I no it's no shock to most
but from the responses to the thread about the Nader activist pictured cozying up to the Bush tablers... I thought this might be useful information for some still struggling with denial.

14. Indeed, Ma'am
The point cannot be driven home too deep.

Providing material assistance to the worst elements of reaction in our polity is a damned odd way to demonstrate one's attachment to left ideals....

13. Indiana GOP Convention
According to a freeper coworker who was at the state GOP Convention, members of the Nader campaign were there to collect signitures to get him on the ballot. They were not disappointed.

Don't these idiots realize they're working against themselves?

16. Hi Liberal Techie!
Welcome to DU! :hi:

And in response to your question, I don't know how the activists could NOT be aware that they're working against themselves. I guess it's kinda like poor Christians thinking that voting R is good for them somehow. As for the voters who support Nader... I don't think many of them do... no. :(

15. Sid Blumenthal's book
In "The Clinton Wars" Blumenthal says Nader got a small award ceremony and a plauqe from the Repubs for "helping us win" in 2000. Since Ralph hasn't sued, I assume every word was true.

Nader is no friend of the left. He apparently sold out some time ago.
