Did anybody see Jon Stewart on Larry King Friday night?
It was brilliant! Jon was in top form. I swear every time I see that man I want to jump up and smooch him! He was on FIRE!!! He handed Larry his ass. I was beautiful.

2. Larry didn't give him any shit.
They obviously really like each other. Stewart was hilarious, and King was pretty funny too. There was more truth told on that episode than anything else on CNN that day.

Stewart is probably the inheritor of King's mantle.

7. He was excellent and right on the money
as usual. So smart and I love his sense of humor. It can be very bitter and pointed but can also make you laugh.

Jon: "I'm not a pacifist by any means... in fact I love bombing."

Larry: "You do?"

Jon: "Yeah, it's great for learning geography. Until we started bombing Afghanistan...I didn't know the capital was Kabul."

(Quote approximation -- I think that's an old joke, but he really had Larry believing him for a minute, he's so deadpan about it.)

9. I don't think it was he vs. Larry.
Jon and Larry enjoy poking fun at eachother and other people. King is a good straight man. I don't think it was a journalistic battle.

11. Larry King is the gentlest interviewer on the planet
He never gives anyone a hard time. And he always seems to be everybody's best pal. You can't call him an investigative journalist of any kind. He's just the kindly uncle who'll talk to anyone over the kitchen table.

13. Yes it was great
I absolutely LOVED what he said about M.L. <UGH>

And I loved the part where Larry asked him if he thought that politicians hid their true selves from us, and Jon was like... please say you didn't just ask me that... LOL!

15. Hot Damn! Go Read That Transcript!
Jon was going full speed, skipping transitions making faceitous comments with a straight face. It was party talk from high-powered smart asses. And Larry King was keeping up with him and playing along -- I was impressed. Never read anything like it that came from a TV screen.
STEWART: Yes. I feel like, you know, I feel like the best thing to do is to convince the country that our God is the one true God and that others are less.

KING: American God, you mean?

STEWART: Yes. The one that blesses us for our manifestness.

KING: He doesn't bless England.

STEWART: No. No. He doesn't care for them. He feels that they're pasty.

KING: Pasty?

STEWART: Pasty and he doesn't care for the food.

KING: But Canada.

STEWART: Happy to have them in the attic, but not so crazy about them in general.

KING: He's a judgemental God.

STEWART: Very angry. Loves the Americans. Very big. Wants us to have bigger cars. Wants us to have bigger cars and as a little goof on us has only made a finite supply of oil. It's very -- he's very funny. He's a trickster. Here's another little joke he did. He promised three different religions they were the chosen ones, Judaism, Christianity and Islam, and then, funny, follow me, he put their holiest sites all in the same place. And then he backed away and he just wants to see who wants it more. That's what this is about. This is God going, hey, show me something, people.

KING: You kind of like him. You kind of like playing.

STEWART: I enjoy the mischief that he's making.
