WAS Early handover done to deflect attention from F-911? |
|
Would it surprise you if you found out it was? We know all about "Midnight ceremonies" with the GOP. Usually means sneaky, underhanded, "Nothing to see here, move along" BS.

2. They had to, either that or dig up Ronald Reagan. |

Besides, Brenner needed a quick exit. Too hot in the desert these days.

3. I think early handover was done because.... |
|
in Bush's world anytime a project is completed ahead of schedule it's a good thing. He governs as a CEO (most CEOs do not accept responsibility for their actions, just like Bush) and now he can say HE is a can do kind of guy who not only sets goals but exceeds them by meeting them EARLY.

4. I think the real reason was |
|
that by pulling it off on such short notice anyone who might have wanted to disrupt the turnover ceremony didn't have the chance to do so. I think they wanted more than anything else to avoid a car bomb rolling into the building while they were signing the deal.

I think they just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. I also think they wanted to give Bush a boost at the NATO summit.

but not a reaction to the movie? Possible, I guess. Its probabally a little of both.

7. Only two days off schedule? Not likely. |
|
We all knew this was coming and that it would be meaningless. The fact that it happened 2 days early means nothing. If they thought it would make a big splash, Bushco is even more pathetic than I thought. Moore's movie is going to be talked about for a loooonnnggg time.

They knew the movie was coming, plus they knew there would be violence on the 30th, so it was logical to try to slip in and out before Bremer got his head blown off.

9. Not so much that as . . . |
|
An abject admission that they have so little control of the situation in Iraq, that they couldn't guarantee an orderly, undisrupted and above all Q-U-I-E-T transfer ceremony on June 30.
This rather salient point, however, will completely escape the TV talking heads, who will marvel over how well {ka-boom} the Iraqis {eeeeeeee-blam!} are taking to {budd-budda-budda-budda} their new-found {ack-ack-ack-ack-ack} sovereignty {hit the deck!}.

sneak under cover of darkness and do the handoff.
If there was anycontroll at all the AWOL/Moron crowd would have had a huge public function.

No soldiers to be sent to Iraq. Only training of Iraqi cops/troops. When, where (not in Iraq), how much?? No answers.

I had assumed that the insurgents likely have some very big plans for the 30th. I believe that they have been gathering up some fairly large fireworks to celebrate the occasion in their own special way.
I was thinking that Paul Bremer simply wanted to be back here so that he would not miss out on any of the coverage of the festivities on CNN.
(sarcasm off)
Honestly, I think the guys with the guns, rockets, mortars, and bombs are a bigger concern to the misadministration at the moment than Michael Moore.

21. Exactly, unquestionably |
|
Because, we all know, by moving up the ceremony two whole days, it's totally stealing F9/11's thunder, which it wouldn't do two days later.
Or maybe they moved it up because they were afraid that a big ceremony on the 30th would be a terrorist target? No, that would make too much sense, and doesn't involve a nice, grandiose conspiracy theory, so I can see why you wouldn't buy it.

Apparently, I have a rather large Homoerotic Fanclub at Fr(REDACTED)epublic and Cons(REDACTED)derground.
They've been feeling firsky lately. Fahrenheit 911 has probably brought their homoerotic fantasies to a fever pitch and they are rbbing ones off faster than you can say "I'm a Gutless Freeper"
Problem is, they don't have the BALLS to identify themselves.
Bunch of cowards is what they are.

It was done intentionally. WE MUST NEVER FORGET... EVERYTHING is done in the Bush White House for POLITICAL GAIN. EVERYTHING. Mayberry Macheavellians. Never forget.

I saw the sequence on Hardball when he said it was most likely a contributing factor along with the threat of further violence in Iraq.

37. It's definitely possible, |
|
And it was the first thing I thought of when I heard about the early "hand-over". But then, I might have F-911 on the brain. 'Course, since I don't think Bush and the RW can refute anything in the movie (hence, their only defense is attacks on MM's character), it would benefit Bush & Co if F-9/11 quickly becomes 2nd page news.
