Hey Nader Fans!
I'm not trying to start a flame war here. I'm not even trying to say "I told you so." I am just sincerely curious. Did Nader's put downs of Michael Moore because of his weight, and the fact that he characterized him as a "beach ball" change your opinion of him? Is it easier for you to see now why some of us think he's egotistical?

Nader is also lashing out at the Green Party for not nominating him, and has been calling them names as well. If you don't agree that he is egotistical, what do you think is motivating this behavior?

1. All that cash he is getting from the GOP is his motivation.
That is coming from a former Nader voter. Fuck the bastard, he is helping * he is no friend of mine.

3. I'm just sad.
I voted for him in NY (a safe state) in 2000, but couldn't do it again. Unfortunately, he's lost me.

He also seems tired. It's sad to watch him.

8. I think it was more about his concern for Michael's health, but
a) he could have phrased it better and b) the media could have found any number of more important things to focus on about those two men than that.

9. I agee
that he is concerned about Michael's health, and I don't want to attribute bad motives to him unnecessarily. But he tried to give Moore advice about his weight privately in the past. Don't you think it would be better if he didn't do it publicly? Humiliating someone about their weight or physical appearance is not contstructive.

10. He was concerned about his health?
I don't know where you're from, but where I'm from when someone is asked to comment on a person's success and answers that's he's fat and a "beach ball," we call security to get that boy suspended from recess.

11. LOL
OK, I get your point. But I thought that in the "beach ball" quote he did make some vague comment about concern for Michael's health.

12. I'm not a Nader fan, and Nader, a classic example of a raving egoist,
can rot in Hell next to the freeper who threw a kitten down some steps and killed it.

13. I wonder why he didn't share his concerns about Moore in 2000?
Now the Greens are *strange* and Michael Moore is a fat beach ball?

:eyes:

Michael Moore said he was hurt by Nader's comments BTW.

14. Of course he was
I mean, Michael Moore is almost endearing in his obvious humanity. He is sensitive as most artists are. Nader, on the other hand, SEEMS to have lost his humanity IMHO.

16. Question was asked of Nader fans, and a bunch of bashers reply
I think Nader truly is concerned about Moore's health. Also he appears to be hurt that Moore has given him the brush-off (will not reply to Nader's messages). That is probably the factor which caused him to say whatever he did in those words. So yes, I am disappointed that Ralph expressed himself in that way... surprised actually... I expect better of him.
But is Nader egotistical? No way. I wish you Nader-haters would fucking back off too... this is truly getting irritating. Why doesn't Kerry do something to win us liberals over instead of pushing us away? Seriously, just take ONE bold stand. PLEASE.

I hope to hear from more Nader supporters. How do you feel about his comments about the Greens? By the way, I also get irritated with Kerry's timidity. But I will do what it takes to get rid of the monster.

18. Nader cares about MM's health- C'mon.
MM is overweight, not morbidly obese. There are plenty of healthy people that weigh too much.

21. Yeah, right
If Nader was concerned about grassroots activism and establishing a progressive third party, he would drop out NOW!

The Green Party is a somewhat established, progressive third party, and Nader is diluting their effectiveness by continuing a Presidential campaign that will do nothing but divide progressives that feel they need to vote their concience with an alternative voice to the chimp and Kerry.

If you think he has ANY concern about what matters to progressives and Greens, you are mistaken.
He is running on pure ego. Cobb is a solid progressive. Kucinich is a solid progressive. He seeks to take support from both of these candidates.

He is not interested in progress. He is interested in Nader.

that is funny. If he cared about this country he would gracefully join forces and help to remove the evil ones rather than team up with them.

20. Nader is concerned about Moore's health ? HAHHHAHAHHAHAH
sorry, but if one is concerned about someone's health calling that person a beach ball and then talking about how "we" are so nice and slim when the issue was about moore's movie or endorsements sure isn't the way to do it.
