What IS This Freeper Obsession Comparing F-911 & Passion?
With all the F-9/11 threads here I've never seen anybody compare these two movies with box office or whatever. Why the heck WOULD you? But every F-9/11 somebody brings up how the Passion "is winning," HUH?

Talk about apples and oranges. It would make more sense if they were released the same year or something!

I guess they are desperate to label this film a "loser" and they will stretch any which way to do so. They can call it whatever they want but this is gonna be the nail in GWBs coffin because all the undecided voters will hear the truths of it even if they don't see the movie, and once they start looking into it, Bush is sunk.

I wonder what Mel Gibson thinks of F-9/11? As a filmmaker, he's got to appreciate it, I mean ANYBODY can find 2 hours of Bush making an ass out himself, but this movie has you on the edge of your seat -- even those of us who knew much of these facts already!

1. Umm, are you being sarcastic?
I have seen several threads on here making that same comparison.

2. Gibson was actually the original financier for this movie.

7. OH YEAH! I sort of remember that now...
how come the freeps don't know he was gonna finance it at one point? I've seen Mel dish on GWB and the war...

I can't imagine Jesus condoning all this death and torture etc., it blows me away how these "Christians" can be all pro-death penalty and war. It's like WHAT exactly do they LIKE about Jesus anyhow? He was a liberal, after all.

3. I find both sides guilty of this
And it annoys the hell out of me.

I see alot of people on here also trying to compare the two.

I'll say it right now. I liked The Passion. I'm a Catholic, and it was very sad, I cried like a baby through the horrible scenes, but it made me want to get up and be a better person.

It didn't make me want to hate Jews, it didn't make me want to bomb any abortion clinics, it just made me want to go out and give.

The movie's message is nowhere near the fundy message of hate anyone who isn't like you ect.

The fundies don't even bother to pull the true message out of this film which is love those, even those who you hate or hate you. I think that hardly sends the sort of message that we find coming from the likes of Smirk and Co. and their followers.

Comparing the two (F 9/11 and The Passion) is indeed apples and oranges.

The only thing they have in common is that they were both judged by people who were ignorant enough to judge without a single viewing of either film.

10. Freepers Are Totally Anti-Jesus in What They Support
I find Jesus's teachings completely contradictory to what I see on FR. It's all "bomb them to hell!" I can't imagine Jesus wanting us all to have assault weapons, the death penalty, racism etc. Especially anti-Christian is their hatred of the poor.

5. I'll make a comparison
I'm sure many of the fundamentalist right wing Republicans flocked to see "Passion", and that many of these people are the same people bitching about Farenheight 9/11. The difference between them and us is that we didn't try to stop their movie from airing. We may have made a few wisecrack remarks about the movie here, but we never tried to stop it. We let the conservatives have their movie. They, on the other hand, not only criticized Farenheight, but also tried to prevent it from airing.

8. How Many People Have Seen Both?
Those That Have Seen Both On Are Near Opening Weekend I Believe Are True Liberals. Not To Offend Anyone, But Keeping An Open Mind Is Paramount. I Am Not Religious At All, But Saw The Passion Opening Day Because I Enjoy Mel Gibson's Movies. I Thought It Was Great, I Also Think 9/11 Is Great.

It Is Funny, They Both Are COMPLETELY Unrelated - One Is About Jesus, And The Other Is About The Devil. :)

9. They think The Passion is their movie
and that F911 is our movie. Black and white, right and wrong, and all that Bushspeak crap.

12. I think there is some relevance to a comparison/contrast.
Both are "unconventional" in a certain sense, though I think that Gibson's money helped his venture a lot. Obviously, a documentary has limited industry value vis-a-vis an "entertainment" film.
