Today, Bush* Committed the ULTIMATE RW Sin
RWers have always caterwauled, gnashed their teeth, wailed and howled anytime American troops were "under the command of the U.N." or otherwise not directly under the control of the Murkins.

Stormin' Norman (he of a new-found voice about three octaves higher than I last heard) just said on Hardball that Murkin troops will be used at the direction of the Iraqi interim government (sic), with the caveat that U.S. military commanders can "red card" a particular mission if they think it is "over the top".

Welcome to BushWorld where Murkin troops are now (135,000 of them) are now under the control of an (ostensibly) foreign power.

(Oh and no cheating by claiming that Iraq is not a sovereign government and that we really control them and thus our troops :-) )

3. Under what previous circumstances
have U.S. troops been under command that is not the US? I remember that this was a rather big issue in the Balkans... that when working with NATO the US still wanted the ability to command US troops. Don't remember the details, though.

9. under direction of iraqi gov't, which in turn is under direction of the us
the rw understands that they're not under control of the french, so they are not concerned.

if shrub says it's ok, and limbaugh says it's ok, then it's ok.
