Further discussion about Bush's character.
Yesterday, I posted this thread about Bush "tearing up" in certain situations:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=104&topic_id=1873904

Now, I want to discuss his habit of nicknaming everyone. Is this his way of de-personalizing them, thus reducing them to the subordinate position? The latest example is "Bandar" Bush, or as the rest of the world knows him, the Saudi ambassador. This was brought up in F9/11, and it really struck me how Bush cannot allow people to retain their name, and thus, their dignity. He has to remove that by giving them quite snarky and passive/aggressive nicknames.

And the whore press in the US just swoons when he does it to them!

Any comments?

1. aren't many derogatory as well
not only does he remove their names in favor of his own nicknames for them but it seems to me that most I've heard are derogatory in some way "Kenny-Boy" or "Turd Blossom"

Either infantilizing or demeaning the target. Seems that he had some nasty name for one of the "larger" news reporters and the idiot woman reported it with a smitten sort of swoon.

I'd love to hear someone in the psych fields comment on this little quirk of Our Glorious Leader (tm)

5. We've got a few psych/therapist types here at DU.
Maybe they'll weigh in.

His nicknames are often quite demeaning. I was particularly struck by "Bandar Bush". I may be wrong, but I believe Bandar is a Prince in Saudi Arabia. Young George may have had problems with having to deal with royalty, so he "changes" his name to Bush, as if that is some gigantic honor or something. But it removes the whole "Prince" thing, doesn't it?

7. Sorry. I know his name is Bandar.
His last name is NOT Bush, however.

4. Remember how bush humiliated the reporter who called him "sir"
instead of "Mr. President"?

IMO, calling others by nicknames and then demanding to be called "Mr. President" shows a man who is very insecure and is always trying to find ways to display his "superiority".
