What are your thoughts on the "early handover" (that's not really a handover)? My guess is that Iraqi officials are now afraid for their lives now more than ever.

1. Another staged photo op and propaganda move that has
nothing to do with reality. The new goverment will be lucky if they can actually govern a two square block area in Baghdad. Bush can claim on the campaign trail that he brought democracy to Iraq. Nothing more to see here. Move along.

2. Bremer left early when an American soldier was held hostage
Randi Rhodes made this point today and I agree with her...it was in poor taste.

3. Bush wins no matter what happens.
If it doesn't work, he can blame "new" Iraq government. If it does work, he can take credit. If the Iraqis demand we leave, bush has an out. USA looses credibility and respect - no matter what happens. As far as I'm concerned, we handed over the government to ourselves.

8. I somehow disagree
If the government is overrun, guess who takes the blame? That's right, Bushler himself for leaving them too early. That, however, is the only way Bush comes off looking bad.

5. It's another "Mission Accomplished"
They moved it up to try and hide it. On the 30th when people say, hey, aren't things supposed to change now with the turnover, they'll say "Oh, that already happened, weren't you paying attention?"
