Anybody attended/ing tonite's MoveOn/Michael Moore House Party?
Edited on Mon Jun-28-04 09:02 PM by Pachamama
I'm on the West Coast and it begins in 15 minutes with conference call with Michael Moore...

Apparentely they did an earlier one for East Coast Parties and another is beginning soon..

Here's the placeholder, although its unclear to me if anyone other than MoveOn.org members and those that signed up to host a houseparty can log in to participate.

2. It's cool - they have an interactive question/poll session set up....
I loved the movie....as does everyone I've spoken too who saw it this weekend...I know even a few Republicans and some Undecideds who saw it this weekend...The Republicans are confused and the Undecided are now decided...for anybody but Bush!

One Republican who is retired military had heard it was so anti-military and yet he really felt that it was honoring the military soldiers and especially the end where Moore says "all they ask, is not to put them in harms way".

4. Have you tried to go to the placeholder I listed? If you want, you can
try to join the call about to start...if it doesn't work, go to MoveOn's site and signup for hosting a private party...

5. Oi Pachamama!
No, and I haven't even been able to see the movie yet. Snif!

I'm not done with school yet, but as soon as I finished this last project I will go to the earliest showing of F9/11.

8. Oh Swamp Rodent!
Sorry your studies have kept you from going to see the movie....

MM is reccommending things we can all do - he's suggesting we all commit atleast one weekend in October to go work in a swing states/battleground states with voter registration drives and the John Kerry campaign. (I think I'll visit my Mom in Florida that month in Palm Beach County-home of the Butterfly ballots). He also said there are a lot of key Senate and congressional races going on in various states (ie the Senate race in Illinois) where people should start helping out...we need to take back the WH and the House and Senate...

He's also reccommending taking Nov. 2nd off and volunteering to drive people to the polls...

10. I already plan to drive people to the polls.
A few months ago, Ray Taliaferro read one of my emails on the air where I said (as a "passionate patriot") that I'm going to the projects on November 2nd and offering elderly people a ride to the polls.

I'm VERY glad Moore is a force behind a voting drive. I was blown away by his last comments. Did he say that we can set up voter registration booths at theaters showing his movie (with permission from the theater owners)?

12. Yes, he did suggest registration booths at the theaters showing his movie
...In fact, when I went on Saturday in Mill Valley, CA there were people outside doing just that...

I actually sent a suggestion to MM that he should have a couple of "free movie" days this summer for people who can't afford to go to movies (or senior citizens)....I hope he does that (and if the movie continues to do well, he can take those profits and do that)....

So Swamp Rodent, after you super glue Bush/F*ck O4 bumperstickers/signs all over N'orleans, your going to drive little old ladies to the polls....

That's so great! :hi:

11. Yep. I'd bet a sack of crawfish that Michael Moore planned it this way.
