Why did Ari Fleischer quit?
I realize this is old news. I heard a rumor that he quit because he couldn't take lying for Shrub anymore and I was just wondering if that was true.

7. that scum did not have enough conscience

to have left because he wouldn't lie for bush anymore. He obviously enjoyed that part of the job. Maybe he killed a local hooker or something more likely like that :p

9. Maybe his dad got to him
Ari's father is a Democrat and was quoted in an interview as saying something like "He suppose Ari's doing drugs would have been worse than being a Republica...but not much." (sorry no link)

10. At least he showed Helen Thomas, a venerable WH reporter,
some respect and didn't send her to the back of the room. I think even he had some pride in what his position was supposed to be about.

11. And why did Karen Hughes quit.. now there I have a theory...
http://www.cnn.com/2002/ALLPOLITICS/04/23/hughes.resigning/
">Hughes quit suddenly immediately after Colin Powell got back from a trip to the middle east (in April 2002 ). http://www.scoop.co.nz/mason/stories/HL0204/S00111.htm
">While Powell was away a coup attempt was mounted in Venezeula a situation which if you think about it is about as humiliating a situation any Secretary of State could face. Not only was his trip to the Middle East not meant to achieve anything, but he was providing the smoke screen for a grubby little anti-democratic adventure in South America.

I reckon Powell threatened to resign on his return to D.C. and Hughes departure was negotiated as a way of keeping him on board.

Pure supposition of course.. but the timing fits...

As for Ari... I haven't a clue but the "sick of lying" theory seems to me to hold some water.

13. the number of lies he told
is simply staggering. I don't believe another human has ever lied as often or as blatantly as Ari.
