how dumb is this: women agreeing to participate in group marraiges (1 dude plus all the women he can fuck and a couple to "grow" on) who endure all sorts of bossing and patronizing and control freak BS - then after going through stuff like labor with no medical care and waiting on the cult god-head hand and foot allow themselves to be brainwashed into killing themselves for whatever wiggy reason the male comes up with. These people - especially the women who make it all possible - are NUTS!

The answer is: Of course.

And, being that there is photographic evidence of explosions occurring, one must conclude that there is a real possibility of just such a thing happening.

In fact, unless you are one of those who has totally bought the bush administartion line on 9/11, you know that the more you learn about 9/11, the more there is about 9/11 that you don't know.

Keeping an open mind about these types of things is crucial to survival in the sense that if you close down your critical thinking processes, your survival becomes endangered.

Creationism - almost to dumb to take seriously as a theory; I always want to say, "but what do you REALLY believe?"

Holocaust Denial - More corrupt than dumb, and pretty respectable by the standards of this list. At least it's mistaken--creationism isn't even up to the level of mistaken.

supernatural Crop Circles - Whenever a phenomenon develops a methodology to distinguish the known fakes from the one's you can't yet prove are fake... it's pretty weak.

Suicide Cults - No crazier than any other cults. Billions of folks claim to believe they think things get better after you die, so suicide cults are just proactive religions.

UFO's!!! Aliens!... green, big eyed funny face and all - There's nothing absurd about the idea of intelligent life in the cosmos but it's tough to see how they'd get here or why they would pick on the goofiest rural people available. (Recovered memories of abductions are a special problem because that phenomenon requires believing in two highly improbable phenomenon in tandem; to be avoided at all costs)

WTC destroyed by explosives, or some other WTC govt' conspiracy - Perhaps not the dumbest theory on the list, but easily the one with the most disturbing implications about human psychology. A drunk retarded psycho gets anointed by a major party and loses but gets installed anyway. When some terrorists attack he uses it as a pretext to try to turn America into a one party theological dictatorship at war with the world. Yet to some people that story isn't weird enough... no matter how weird the world gets some folks get a sense of comfort or superiority from believing absurd things. If aliens land on Earth tomorrow it won't be weird enough! Bonus points to this theory for its self-importance factor... why the heck hasn't the government taken out all the MIHOP researchers yet?

But the WINNER is classical homeopathic medicine; the claim that solutions become stronger the more you dilute them is wrong on so many levels that it's almost cosmic. Many nut theories throw out one or two natural laws but classical homeopathy tries to run the table... it's hard to even think of anything that *doesn't* disprove it.
