Zell Miller to speak at the GOP Convention
He said he supported Bush, so this is really no surprise. Since the RNC thinks he's an inspirational leader, they can have him! He'll be speaking right alongside of Dick 'fuckyou' Cheney.
:puke:

Here's part of the RNC Press Release:

2004 Republican National Convention Announces Convention Lineup
"We are thrilled to announce these inspirational leaders as part of the convention's sessions. When President Bush accepts the Republican nomination, the nation will see the energy and momentum behind our party and our candidate as we head into the fall," said Mr. Harris. "In addition to the names released today, dozens of other speakers will be announced as the convention nears."

Monday, August 30, 2004
- Mayor Michael Bloomberg
- Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani
- Senator John McCain (R-AZ)

Tuesday, August 31, 2004
- First Lady Laura Bush
- Secretary of Education Rod Paige
- Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger

Wednesday, September 1, 2004
- Mrs. Lynne Cheney
- Vice President Dick Cheney
- Senator Zell Miller (D-GA)

Thursday, September 2, 2004
- Governor George Pataki
- President George W. Bush

The 2004 Republican National Convention will be held for the first time ever in New York City at Madison Square Garden from August 30 - September 2, 2004. Nearly 50,000 visitors are expected to visit the city for the occasion. For more information about the 2004 Republican National Convention, please visit our website at www.gopconvention.com.

1. How does he get by with this?
I'm a member of the DFL State Central Committee. If I went out and campaigned against an endorsed candidate (even another DFLer in a primary race) I could be kicked off the Central Committee.

Yet Zell keeps pulling this crap and the Democrats do nothing to him.

7. Because he is a politically impotent, bitter old man...
he didn't even have enough propagandistic value for Scaife to fund bulk purchases of his recent book. What, Miller is going to bring women, youth, and minorities to the republicans? Not likely.
I still despise the piece of shit though.

2. i've been thinking, why would zell be such a sell-out? And it hit me...
...it's that directorship on carlyle's board of directors. Either that or someone in the gop has pictures of zell doing the nasty with the wrong person(s).

I think we should call him a zell-out.

3. Arnold could publicly suck cock and personally perform abortions...
and I still wouldn't cut that motherfucker any slack. Notice to all of you "but Arnold is a pro-choice, gay rights moderate republican"- HE"S SPEAKING AT THE GODDAMN CONVENTION FOR A NATIONAL AUDIENCE!
Please quit defending that piece of shit Bush booster.
Oh, and Miller? He can go to hell.

4. Who cares?
He only maintains his claim to being a Democrat to damage the party, the man is consumed by hatred of his origins. Not a soul who knows politics thinks otherwise, if it gives the Republicans a rush to pretend that Zell represents some sort of Democratic crossover then more power to 'em.

Zell only gets attention because he thinks he pisses the Democrats off, but he has worn that shoe out.

5. Does this mean that Kerry needs to pick another running mate?
This courtship of McCain went way too far and it looks like he'll play is moderate (even though he's solid conservative) persona against Kerry. Zell shouldn't hurt too much since he's an old southerner and won't translate like Giuilani will.

We need someone like Harold Ford speaking...an up and comer who relates to every age and race.

6. Let's all ask Zell for inaugural tickets
the day after Kerry wins the election.

That'll show him.

9. I'd say they are positioning Zell to replace Cheney if need be
I don't know why I get this feeling, but maybe they are doing internal polling and finding that a fusion ticket like Bush-Miller does close to what all that polling on a Kerry-McCain ticket would do?

I know both those tickets sound nuts to DUers but to 'average' Americans there is some morbid appeal to the borging of the Democratic Party that each of those combinations represents.

Is Zell a PNAC dude? If so, I would say he is in if they have to ditch the Dick in the run up to the election. In any event Bush could run with him, then have him resign for health reasons next year, assuming they could win, and replace him with another nutjob like Cheney after that.
