The right's attack against Moore: the faxes. |
|
So here we go. I've seen them, and many have made their rounds today. I saw one faxed at 7:00 PM EST to Scarborough (I admit, I can't watch the retarded Matthew Perry of the right). Here's the line of attack. Everything in quotes is from the faxes.
1) Veracity: attack the veracity of Moore's claims. "Point out, with URL if possible (see attached), Christopher Hitchens' piece in Slate (pull out any quotes you deem fitting)."
2) Go after Moore's anti-Americanism: "Pull his quotes from his trip to England when he calls American's stupid (see accompanying fact sheet)."
3) Emphasize the way Moore goes after our troops: "He attacks our troops in this movie. Emphasize the way he takes hard rock music and cuts it into our troops' dialogue with the images of Iraqi children. None of these things haven anything to do with each other. Just keep emphasizing how this is pure propaganda."
4) Make the democrat party representative distance himself from Moore.
Here's their bottom line: "Moore's movie can't overtake our numbers. Limbaugh has more listeners in a week than Moore does with his records. Russert pulls in more viewers on a Sunday. We just have to discredit him slightly. We're fighting for the 8%."
Interesting: they see it as only 8%. I think their numbers are skewed. I think their pollsters think too highly of chimpy's base/the stupidity of the populace (a stupidity which is really too hard to overestimate).

Where did you see these faxes? Who sends them? To whom?
I can use this stuff on another board. Thanks.

Scarborough's audience is so small, it'll never make a difference.

Well, you can go to Michael Moore's site and find ways to help the troops. I guess they didn't put that in their faxes. As well as his support from Vets.

15. He doesn't have to be a shill, |
|
he only has to be "fair."
What do they mean by "fair."
If I say 2+2=4 And they say 2+=5
Then Russert allows two of us equal time debating the very premise of 2+2. In fact, he won't interject with anything meaningful. If Russert finds out that in 1975, while I was working on my Master's degree in nanophysics, I wrote an article suggesting that " 2+2 could, in fact, equal infinity, then he'll call me on it and make me explain what I meant. When I explain that it's really a matter of theoretical mathematics, he'll say, "Well, with all due respect, Americans expect something more that 'theoretical.' In fact, Big Russ always taught me, 'when someone says theoretical, what they mean is that they're lying to ya.'"
Time's up. How about a fucking George Forman grill commercial?

Alas, it is just not their selfish nature.

This is so true. And what about all this warfare. Someone wrote that if we had spent the same amount of money actually doing GOOD things around the world, think of the benefits we would reap in terms of goodwill, good karma and all that.

I can't give it all up.
I have a friend who checks grammar, etc. He's a repub. but is also a dear friend. Everything that's "out there" he gives to me. Some of the "touchy stuff" he asks me not to type. He knows I play around at DU. He doesn't mind. He can't stand the Bushies. He's more libertarian than anything else.
I'll never betray his loyalty. He's a good friend. You can go through and check the accuracy of my "predictions." They're pretty much good to go. But there's a wide discrepancy in what the right uses and what they don't; and a lot of it depends on the show. They like to see what catches on (Drudge is a fuck nugget in this regard; holy fuck, what that guy won't print!!!!!). MSNIBC loves, LOVES, running his garbage (especially that fuck John Elliot--you should have seen the faxes addresed to that pee-hole).

I seldom watch Scarborough, due to the level of high regard I hold him in, but it was early this am and I couldn't sleep. As I surfed the channels I ran across Scarborough saying something about Moore and F911 so I parked the remote and watched.
Reading what you posted was like reading a review of his program and I was reminded of how angry he made me in the early hours. Speculation, coincidence, you decide. These spinning heads don't have a brain they just wait for the fax of the day from Rove and Co.!

34. But Clark didn't distance himself |
|
They tried it at least two times to him. The first time was on CNN I think and the way Clark had Moore's back in that interview is what made Michael Moore support him in the primaries. Then Clark again had Michael Moore's back in the Democratic debates. Democrats and Liberals need to take a page from Wes Clark's book and learn how to handle these bastards. Americans like people who stand up for something. When politicians back down or are wishy washy which is the DLC way of handling things, they see that as weakness. That's how we managed to loose the White House, both houses of congress and by that the Supreme Court. Follow Wes Clark's lead and stand up to these bastards. If Bush can say that Limbaugh is a great American or whatever the hell the fucker said, our "leaders" should have Moore's back all the way on this. It's the least they can do for a guy who has done more for them in a week than the idiotic DLC has ever done.

28. Lies, and the lying liars who lie to cover the lies that they used to |
|
cover the lies that covered the lies.....
What a tangled web they weave, when first they practice to deceive.
The freeper mind is apparently a matrix of deception, and freepers seem to be so lost in the maze of their own twisted thought processes that they must constantly invent ways to justify their corruptions.
Here's some advice to help freeps get back to reality:
If something is fact, but you don't like the fact, accept it as fact anyway. Don't make up things in order to try to prove that it is not fact. Because when you do, you act like stupid children.
Michael Moore has factually proven to the world that Bu$h is a creep.
Deal with it. Honestly.

33. Scarborough Uses The Troops; Bush Uses The Troops |
|
I've seen Scarborough post pictures of himself sitting in a jeep with soldiers.
Bush uses the troops as campaign backdrops. All of his speeches to the troops - from the aircraft carrier on. He sets up the picture and location and gives his speech to people who are told to applaud.
I've seen Greta use the troops - flying in bombers with photos.
Others have used the troops. Fox used the troops during fleet week in NYC. Hannity loves to use the troops.

31. Blast Fax!!! Thanks For Posting! |
|
Yes, kids, Rove & Chipmunk Gillespie blast out the talking points every morning that makes the rounds to the "media elite"...reporters, hate radio hosts and others who will be speaking the party line for the day. It's called the "Blast Fax"...and there sure as hell looks like one! I thank you so much for exposing it.
Now before we go hopping up and down, the Democrats do the same thing. It goes to many of our favorites so they can counter the lies and spins from the right wing. The difference is how these faxes are used.
One place this fax goes is right to Faux News Central...Be assured each one of those points got its own segment on a show during the day and those points were integrated in the news scripts. Another goes to Oxy-Contin Central...where those lies get out about noontime and percolate all afternoon on hate radio...so that by the 6:00 news, the lie now has been the "issue of the day" and the topic is flipped from the points of Moore's movie as to how it's full of lies without one having to be proven.
One great thing, is it also shows how simple and shallow most Repugnicans are. They will swallow these points without question and not question the "facts" or lack of them that they present. When everyone was scared that some Arab was gonna fly anthrax into a skycraper, this crap worked, now it's not quite getting the traction. Bunnypant's falling poll numbers keep showing it.
Please, Please, keep posting those faxes if you can get your hands on them...this shows the real workings of this regime, and their total hatred of free press and free expression.

while "lightening up Bagdad" please correct me if I'm wrong, and I listen to hard rock, I still got an AC/DC CD or two which is all tame compared to what they listened to. But I believe Moore's point was that the soldiers seemed to use the music as a drug to pump them up and maybe also drown out the screams of the dying.

39. No, it's not my job at stake. |
|
My friend checks grammar, etc. He gives no input on the ideas (which is good for us, because he's quite crafty). My friend O.K.s everything I put up here. Nothing I ever post here hasn't made it to news shows. Heck, if you had a friend at Morning Edition, you'd see much of the same thing.
I wish I could say I was risking something by putting this stuff out, but I'm not. Sometimes I can't use the exact words from the faxes because they could be identified as coming specifically from my friend's firm. But the above fax is almost identical to 5 others. No one will catch him (at least he's not worried about it--nor am I).
By the way, my friend does usually vote repub. but cannot and will not vote Bush. Couldn't vote for him in 2000 either, though won't admit he voted for Gore. I have a suspicion that he voted Nader and not just to get Nader % points for easier ballot access/campaign $$$ in order to make his next run (2004) against the dems. easier. He'll never admit to voting for Nader because of Nader's old school conservative principles.
