I swear, he really thinks that "the soldiers are going to begin to come home now!" Three of us argued to the contrary but despite this man's advanced degrees and reputation in his field, we found that what he heard in his busy life (via cable) was only that "Iraq has taken over and so the military is going to start to be shipped home."

Oddly, another at the dinner who is not a Bushbot* thought that this was the "message" given today. Wonder how many others will be waiting for that event and wonder how disappointed they will be. This has the potential to cause some problems for the geniuses in the WH...

earlier on, i thought the message the outlets were sending was one along the lines of "this is a largely symbolic turnover", meaning the name on the door of the big office changes, but the machinery remains mostly unchanged. then i see cnn pushing this "Countdown To Turnover" nonsense ... god damn! can we PLEASE *PLEASE* get some *non-ratings* driven mainstream news outlets in this country?!?!
