Basically The Bloc is around to break up Canada. A comment I heard today from their leader Gilles Duceppe (and I'm paraphrasing) was "If it benefits Quebec we'll vote for it and if not, who cares". I love my country, but holy shit we give money to people who want to bring the whole thing down. My Canada includes Quebec, but damn they make it hard to love them.

It doesn't usually work that way here in minorities. And I think Martin will be inclined to play all the angles. For different initiatives, he could curry the support of any of the three opposition parties.
He has a relatively strong minority. I expect he'll make ad hoc deals with the opposition to stay in power for at least another year.
