2. No one will touch him.. He is a loose cannon..
There is no way that any media exec would dare put him on..

He would have to do a Murdoch and BUY his own station to get his views promoted..

UNLESS... the congress swings back to the liberal side again...and iF the liberal politicians have seen the light... If those two things happen, media empires would/should be broken up just like they did with the telephone industry and the rail systems.. Break it up, make independent ownership and REAL competition fashionable again..

The fairness doctrine re-instated would be another important thing that would have to happen too..

ONLY then, could a guy like Moore be successful on tv..

3. TV Nation was GREAT!
Will he want that weekly crap after being crowned the political Upton Sinclair of our time (well, I crowned him that, anyway)? His show really was the funniest thing on teevee. I remember his End Of Communism tour, where he painted the trailer truck red with a hammer and sickle insignia and drove through the Wal Mart Nation looking for people to celebrate with. Brilliant satire, but way way over the heads of much of the US audience, I fear. Not that it was hi-brow, but it required a lot of civics and history knowledge to appreaciate much of it. All that said, I'd be first in line to greet his new show back!

5. Oh yeah, that was a great show
It lasted only a very few episodes but it was great while it lasted. Remember when he had a guy move into a house and act like a serial killer to see if the neighbors noticed? He played heavy metal, painted his windows black, and dug grave-sized holes in his yard. Then Michael interviewed the neighbors..."Nice guy, seems to have a septic problem."

6. I enjoyed "TV Nation"
Edited on Tue Jun-29-04 09:36 AM by RatTerrier
I still remember "Crackers the corporate crime fighting chicken".

Too bad it didn't last too long.

I remember when one of those so-called "family values' groups (Bosell? Wildmon?) blasted the show as the most 'left-leaning show on TV, next to "McGyver" (which I always thought of as a very family-friendly show). Shows what their true colors are, doesn't it?

Beleive it or not, "TV Nation" was carried by both NBC and FOX :wow: That's not going to happen in this day and age, that's for sure.

Anyone know if "TV Nation" and "The Awful Truth" are available on DVD?

4. Imagine 1 hour of F911 every week!
It would kick ass, now that Bill Moyers is retiring....

7. I want Crackers back
I just don't feel safe without Crackers the Corporate Crime fighting Chicken to protect me.

As good as it was I think I would prefer a daily Daily Show be aired on all networks instead of the national news.

I had a friend who had an idea that it should be illegal to advertise during the news, it should be strictly a public service, with it's budget determined by a percent of gross corporate revenues.
