I hate to ask but-What happened to the "New" Iraqi flag?
Yesterday WNT tonight showed that the Iraqi flag was raised (and replaced the US flag) over the Green zone thus signifying that something profound had happened. I saw the shot and wondered-What happened to the "new" Iraqi flag?

Odd-15 pages of Google images and I can't find the Israel-esque one they unveiled a few months ago.

3. Great minds- The Saddam era flag focus grouped better?
or was the "new" Iraqi flag just such a stupid idea that they put it away and made everyone promise not to mention it again?

5. Yahoo caption-I thinkit is one Iraqi and I think one US
The guy on the right might be a US soldier but that helmet doesn't look right-I could be wrong.

Iraqi National Guardsmen prepare to raise their country's flag above U.S. Army troops of the 1st Cavalry division's 2nd Battalion during a dawn ceremony, in which the Stars and Stripes was lowered to half mast, at a base in south eastern Baghdad June 29, 2004. The United States handed over sovereignty to an interim Iraqi government on Monday, formally ending a 14-month occupation two days earlier than expected to try to forestall guerrilla attacks. 4. That flag was such a ridiculous thing. They don't want to mention it
again, natch, because it keeps on showing their ineptitude. It is like Bremer's edicts....

7. Public opposition...
The new flag went over about as well as a fart in church with the Iraqi people.

8. I believe that someone threw it over the weekly speeches that
Chimp was going to give leading up to the handjobover. Maybe that's why we never heard them.

9. Oh yeah I remember hearing about those too
Either:
a)The first speech was so bad that they shelved the idea of W 'informing the public' on an issue (sssssssshhh don't mention it)

b)Everyone got PO'ed for the pre-emption of some reality show

c)They ran out of was to spin W's failure

d)Ratings weren't good enough to waste time on it when they could be FUNDRAISING!

e)all or some of the above.

10. I believe it was "a."
But the media pretends that these speeches never were supposed to exist. That's the most galling part.
