Is this the Michael Moore interview where he blasted Hannah Storm?
I know some people here were asking about this but my Real Player won't open the file for some reason. Can someone check to see if this is the correct interview?

Should be the Free Video a the left of the page

1. No wonder they can't properly report the news...
Edited on Tue Jun-29-04 09:21 AM by gatorboy
...They can't even afford a spell-checker:

"She quoted Christopher Hitchens who called the movie "a synister exercise in moral frivolity cruelly disguised as an exercise in seriousness."

EDIT: Looks like I need a spell check to! :D

2. That's the one.
I love how Storm tries to play investigative journalist, and gets smacked down in her own interview. What a fucking joke.

3. Yes but just as he starts to enlarge Hannah's understanding
about media complicity the interview is cut.

6. As Jon Stewart quipped on the Daily Show last night...
"Did he just ambush her during an interview on her own show???"

(Referring to poor Hannah's attempts at hard-nosed journalism opposite Michael Moore)

Personally, I LOVE seeing MM go up against these media lightweights. He's an absolute treasure for our side, because he takes them head-on, and doesn't give an inch -- and in so doing, shows the rest of us that it's OK to be unabashedly liberal/progressive, and that there are a helluva lot of us out here, despite what the media might try to say.

7. They cut it at the end??? That's the best part!
Edited on Tue Jun-29-04 09:31 AM by gatorboy
Reminds of an interview on Air America where they talked about O'Reilly editing the footage when a guest would get the better of him. Cowards.

8. What happened at the end that they cut?

I thought he did great and she looked like she had just sucked on a lemon during the whole episode.

I assumed wtmusic meant they edited out the end of the interview. My apologies! :)

16. After the interview she does a plug for a useless nonstory
about deet bug spray or some nonsense. Could not have made Moore's point more complete if she had jumped up with pompoms and started chanting Bush Bush he's our man.

12. Geez. Either Hannah was in a really bad mood that day...
...or she's a freeper who really didn't want to talk to Moore.

Either way, it was a shitty interview - and Mike was right to come down hard on her.

18. I think she really *wanted* to talk to Moore.
Seems to me like she was anxious to make Moore look bad. Another media clown with an overinflated ego, who was surprised to find Moore dancing around her rhetoric and slapping her silly with her own moronic arguments.

13. My Daughter Wrote A Killer Letter To Storm...
saying she was planning on studying journalism and hopes to get into a better journalism program than Hannah obviously did, LOL! AND, that she was taking that interview in to her school newspaper meetings in Sept. to discuss blatant media bias.

She mentioned that with all the great reviews and awards the film has collected, she chose to quote only the laughable Christopher Hitchins "review..."

Then she had a PS saying, PS, I'm thirteen years old and I could have done a more professional, less biased interview than THAT!

I loved the part where she seethed at MM about show Dumbo sitting in the classroom after the attacks and "you put thoughts in his head, is that FAIR?" he said something like, I thought I was being generous just assuming he HAD any thoughts in that footage!

LOL!!!

Jon Stewarts take on this yesterday was HILARIOUS!

15. YES....that's the one I was talking about in a previous post
If you actually saw it....Michael put her truly on the defensive....and she couldn't take it.

The article here does not show the dynamics of how she lost it and resorted to the comment....quite off the wall...."so I hear you're getting death threats"......

Michael was not rattled at all and took it in stride.

17. Wow. She had an agenda from the jump . . .
. . . that one eye kept squinting and I don't think she could have crossed her legs any harder if she'd tried. Her anger was consuming her. You could hear her in the background making sounds like um hum, yeah, right, uuh huh, mmm, yep, eh, mmmm mmm .... what a bitch.

TYY

19. I sent an e-mail telling them that I had studied Journalism in college
and that interview should be sent to every J-school in this country to illustrate how not to conduct an interview! When, oh when, will the media learn that if you're planning on trying to one-up Michael Moore that you had better "bring it" or he will slice and dice you and then spit you out for sport! I love watching this men show these buffons up for the fools they are. More than that, I love watching the gleam in his eye while he does it.

20. Question...
I live outside of the United States and have no idea what this show is about, where it is taped or anything.

What's the deal with the background noise? Why does it sound like a jet engine revving up at the end of the interview?

I have no idea either, except that at first it sounded like someone decided to start doing some vacuuming around the margins of the set...

24. She must think she's another Matt Lauer,
who was just as blatantly partisan.

I wrote to her and a few others at CBS. As far as I am concerned, anyone who refuses to at least listen, understand and ask the questions are not acting in the best of this country.

More importantly, in my mind, any journalist or those pretending to be a journalist who do not ask or investigate the variety of Bush* administration issues are complicit to murder and the destruction of this nation.

I briefly studied journalism too. One of the things that was beaten into us was objectivity.

It is a crying shame that the children growing up today are subjected to partisan 'journalism'.

25. It's the Jerry Springer mentality that Fox has made so popular
They're less interested in getting the truth and more interested in juicy, noisy sound bites. Unless they backfire.

26. They don't hire these TV journalists for their intelligence.
Some have leverage, some have the looks, some just are team players.

Ms. Storm was totally obnoxious in that interview. She kept on trying to make Moore commit to things, and kept trying to slap a simple label on the movie.

When Moore countered saying that CBS Evening News was propoganda (which it was), she responded with some lame lecture about what journalists do. It was incredibly weak and unprofessional.
