Hate radio is so cool!
Man are they hip. The shows begin with some hard core grunge. And then as you listen for awhile, you realize that what they are saying is hard core grunge.

I also like all the Born-Again stations and how they all broadcast from Chartes Cathedral.

1. Something I've always wondered
Why is it that the intro music for so many right-wing talk radio hosts sounds like it came from the soundtrack of a bad '70s porno film? Limbaugh being the classic example (and Sean "Let Freedom Ring" Hannity being the exception).

2. Do you actually remember
any GOOD '70's porn? I always liked the intro to Limpballs show. Pretenders.

4. His Theme Was Written By Chrissie Hynde...And She Doesn't Like It
The tune you hear is "My City Is Gone"...a great tune about the decay of Akron...during the Raygun years. Chrissie's tried to have Rush stop using it, but can't. Here's why...

Under agreements, a radio station can play up to 15 seconds of a song without either the artist's permission or paying a royalty. Thus Rush uses The Pretenders and all these other goons play bands that in no way support their political hatred (Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Petty and so on).

Notice how few use Toby Keith?

7. Commercials Are Usually 30 Seconds
Those pay big bucks so that Jimmy Page wails behind the Cadillac Ad. But 15 seconds or less...especially a local station...is a freebie.

The DU equivelent is the ability to quote 4 paragraphs of any article as long as you post the link.

11. from what i heard
limp pays chrissie .either limp or chrissie then donates the money to some cause of chrissie`s. i think there is a difference to "theme" music such as limps or seanie`s and music "bumpers"-15 or less seconds..

13. wow - ok
I always wondered how that worked. I couldn't bring myself to believe that Chrissie Hynde supported Limbaugh in anyway and it always pissed me off that he used The Pretenders music. I love The Pretenders.

8. I don't understand this: why there are right wing rock dee jays.
Rock n roll developed in reaction to conservative and racist system. Now, you have conservative and racists dee jays who play rock. Orwellian days.

12. It's an appeal to grab
young listeners. Start with a hip intro, then fill them full of RW spin.
