2. Mine was within walking distance |
|
On the opposite corner of my condo complex. I was very pleasantly surprised. Ages ranged from 18 to 70.
There was a very good vibe there, it felt historic and important. I got in a few DU plugs.

11. Moore's Advice To Kerry |
|
Don't run so far to the right. We already have GOP.
Talked about group of 18-20 year olds he was talking to. Asked how many there were voting for Nader AFTER seeing the movie. LOTS of hands went up. Mike said Kerry's daughter was there unbeknownst to the crowd. She was SHOCKED.
He put distance tween himself and Nader and commended Greens for not endorsing Nader. Said he left the Nader bandwagon when he broke his agreement and campaigned in swing states during 2000 election.
First 100 Days of Kerry Administration
1. Out of Iraq 2. Health Care (human right) 3. Joint Mission for Alternative Energy (we're running out of oil)
There were 27 people at the party I attended.

4. NO But................ |
|
Three days ago someone got my debit card numbers and started charging things to it online. I was really angry, disputed all of them except one. Crooks they may be but they donated $15.00 of my money to MoveOn. Good thing it wasn't that "other" group!

Moore said it was his personal mission to persuade everyone who had voted for Nader in 2000 (like he had) to vote for Kerry this time around. He also urged Kerry to appeal to the left .

9. Met a few more folks from our area |
|
and there were some younger folks there, which was AWESOME to see. I put in a plug for the pro-choice party I'm having. They were psyched.
2 of the folks were REALLY annoying. Neither of whose names I caught initially. It began to look like the entire party was going to be these two annoying people having an annoying discussion that excluded everyone else. It was like watching a tennis match, back and forth. And no one could get a word in edgewise. Finally, another person managed to get in at a break and started talking. The 1 tried to bust in on him too many times, I just held my hand up to her because she was being so rude.
I found out after the fact what her name was. I recognized it because she rode to Houston with 2 friends of mine a couple of months ago, and was unbelievably anti-gay (for a Dem volunteering on Dean's campaign!).
I had tried to avoid her in events I signed up for, but after "meeting" her last night, I can definitely understand what the big deal was. And I can work harder to avoid her in the future. As far as I'm concerned, being anti-gay and calling yourself a Democrat is anathema.
