Why the $$$$ F-9/11 brings in matters
The big point I haven't seen discussed about the movie is that it
clearly illustrates that slamming the bush* administration is a
MONEY MAKER. Once this point hits home for the corporate media, they
will all(except fox) start getting on the bandwagon.

BASHING BUSH* == $$$$$$

Thats the word that needs to go out!

5. Disney only cares about money
They don't care one whit about politics. But with Jeb over Florida and Bush giving tax cuts, Disney's best interest is in getting those tax cuts.

Which means they may even dip into the liberal media market if it makes them money. Don't forget, they've done films like Mulan and Pocohantas, and were one of the first major corporations to extend domestic partner benefits, earning the animosity of Baptists everywhere. I just got back from Disney World, and I happened to show up on Gay Day. There were a ton of bumperstickers saying "Piss off the Baptists, go to Disney World."

The Mouse giveth, and the Mouse taketh away, but mostly the Mouse chases money where they can. Besides, both Eisner and Moore knew that little flap would help Moore's film. Eisner would have hurt Moore more by quietly distributing the film himself.

2. I think things are so bad, even $$$ is not enough
After all, $$$ won't resurrect you from the dead if you get a nice envelope full of anthrax sent by Bushevik Operatives.

It won't revive you after your plane has Mysteriously Crashed for No Reason (except that you dared to go against the Imperial Family).

Plus, soon the Busheviks will own or infiltrate as much of the Movie Industry as they do the Formerly Free Press.

7. And that's why I support my independent news sources....
Such as DU and Bartcop. The way I see it, the people on this board itself are reporters and pundits. And they can do just a good job if not better than most newspapers and cable channels. In essence I have to "pay for my news".. :)

3. Exactly. That's what will change a few media networks
Not all, mind you. FOX, NBC and MSNBC are owned by right wing wackos. CNN is close. But one of the excuses for the media's move to the right with Ladykiller Joe and Michael SavageWeiner was that the consumers wanted it.

Well, Moore just proved they want honesty a lot, um, more. So maybe there will be a bit of a shift on some channels. A little truth could even start a tidal wave to cleanse the foul stables of the American media.

8. Didn't forget, I just wasn't sure which camp they belong in
Are they rightwingers because of a perceived economic advantage or because someone running the show is a true believer? Disney, despite the overblown Moore contraversy, is right wing for financial reasons, and Eisner even basically said that when he said he was afraid of tax retribution from JEB. Eisner, on the other hand, gave domestic partner benefits to Disney employees when that wasn't cool, and took on the Baptists to do it. I don't think Eisner is overly political. I think he's just trying to make a buck.

But I'm not sure how ABC's management plays out. I know some folk at ABC are liberals, and that's why Rush didn't get Monday Night Football.
