Took my young kids to see F911. Was I wrong? |
|
Some fucking redneck, I mean culturally impared white man, sure had a problem with it. Almost started a braul in the middle of the movie. It's okay to kill and/or expose all the Iraqi children to real violence. That's just fine of course, if its done in the name of.. What are we there for again?

1. Good point. And of course you should decide for your own kids. |

how they reacted to it? I'm asking because if it ever comes to a theater near us, I'd really like to take my son. He's only 11 years old, however, he's quite intelligent and very mature for his age and is overly interested in politics and wants to see it very badly. I had originally said he can't go because I'd heard there were some very brutal scenes. What do you think?
By the way, the guy that badgered you doesn't know your kids, so he had no business telling you what you should or shouldn't expose them to.

mostly in CA. One entire theater chain is protesting the MPAA ruling by allowing anyone in to see the movie.

9. I took my 11 and 14 yr old sons. They were very glad they saw it. |
|
There are some very gruesome images during which they covered their eyes (even my 14-yr old). During the second half of the film when these images were shown, I was second-guessing myself if I did the right thing by bringing my 11 yr old. We live in Manhattan and I thought it might be too emotional an experience, but my son said he was really glad he saw it. Thanks to DU and the other progressive web sites that we all know and love, my kids have been well aware of most of the issues brought up in the movie.
BTW, one of my kids all-time favorite movies is Bowling for Columbine. Besides some of it being hilarious to them, they learned that Canada is a pretty cool country if some day they need to go live there.
