I've written to the company and plan on selling my stock at a huge loss this week.
I've had it with them.

17. That's the only reason I've kept the shares this long.
They are always advising the shareholders to vote no on issues I feel are important: workplace/themepark safety, fair wages for the average employee, etc. but that stuff never gets passed. The Disney Corp. has no soul.

This was the final straw:

18. You Selling Doesn't Scare Them
What they are afraid of is you not signing that next proxy statement that comes around because you have lost faith in their judgment. That is what they fear, not a 3 day slump in the stock price because some shareholders got a conscience.

meetings to disrupt - usually very funny. Perhaps you could sell to them. I forget their name - anyone else remember them?

14. Hard to feel sorry for Disney
People from the Anime world know what sort of thieves the people at Disney are. They have stolen story after story from Japan with no acknowledgement whatsoever. They gave up on creativity and instead invested in stealing ideas. They gave up their art and their heart.

16. How can opinions change from one day to the next? Poll results are
weird. I can understand when something dramatic happens, like Bush gotten in a lie. But why would Kerry's numbers (liking numbers) go down? He has not even been that visible. Is it Bush's negative campaigns working their magic?

19. Great! I actually use the Disney connection when I refute that Hezbollah
B.S. All the wingnuts were positively crowing when Disney refused to distribute F9/11. Now they have the gall to pull this crap (from whence The Guardian got its article) about some secondary or tertiary possible connection to donations from "organisations related to Hezbollah which have rung up from Lebanon to ask if there is anything they can do to support the film"
:wtf:
Not only did Disney lose a big-ass bucket of cash, but they lost control of the distribution. If they had held onto it they might well have tried to limit distribution, perhaps successfully. They wrongly concluded that if they didn't do it nobody would. Heh heh heh.
The rest, as they say, is history!:D

My mom and I went to the company meeting in Hartford last year. We saw how Eisner ploys in person. We like to think we built the bandwagon to get rid of him.

28. Roy Disney built a bandwagon
Edited on Tue Jun-29-04 11:05 PM by Jen6

Roy is a good guy; I used to work with him, he's very down to earth and is fed up with Eisner's whoreishness. Visit his site and join the fight!

Story linked on his website:
Cashing in on 'Fahrenheit'

Weinsteins big winners, another Eisner fumble

"Fahrenheit's" heating up the Weinsteins - and leaving Disney boss Michael Eisner out in the ice cold.

Miramax moguls Harvey and Bob Weinstein are set to personally pocket tens of millions of dollars - money that could have gone to Disney - from record-breaking Michael Moore flick "Fahrenheit 9/11," analysts said yesterday.

The Weinsteins' decision to invest $6 million of their own money to buy the flick from Miramax-owner Disney is looking like one of Hollywood's smarter deals. Disney bailed, deeming the Bush bashing movie too controversial.

After taking in a whopping $21.8 million on its debut weekend, the low-budget documentary is set to rack up between $50 million and $100 million at the domestic box office, analysts predicted. And that's before the film's international release, DVD sales, pay per view and other sources of cash.

26. What's their problem?
It's only money. And egg on Disney's face. And the corporate shills' hand-picked president being presented as the dull-normal, heartless scumbag he is, for all the world to see.

Like I said.....it's only money.

would you have to be to refuse to distribute the Cannes award-winning film that you own the rights to?

I hope this is enough to push Eisner out.
