That seems like a fair compromise. Have him petition only for the states that are not in contention and do some vote trading with greens in the close states. I don't see how that is unreasonable at all for both sides. I am really sick of hearing "Kerry is the same as Bush so I'm for Nader" or "a vote for Nader is a vote for Bush". Both extremes are wrong IMO and a compromise needs to be worked out. That is an important step to ensuring Bush out of office and that is the goal for us all.

1. Go ask him
I suspect he'll tell you that you can't hurt the Democrats by doing that, so there would then be no point in even running for president.

Of course, he wouldn't mind 5 more years of Bush either, so it's a win-win situation for him.

(1 more year for the postponement of an election)

2. Because Nader doesn't care about this country
If people want an alternative for Kerry and the chimp, they have David Cobb, the Green Party Presidential candidate.

Cobb has said that he isn't going to campaign in battleground states because he understands how important it is to get rid of the chimp.

Nader won't endorse him, or drop out. He has been rejected by the Greens, and he will work to make them suffer too.
He has clearly no interest in advancing progressive politics.

Nader is for Nader and noone else.

5. He is running against Kerry, not Bush
Even Nader knows he has a 0% chance of winning, he is in the race to try and cost the Democrats another election. Nader's supporters say he is trying to change the Democratic Party, but if that really were true he would work WITH the party in a constructive way instead of what he is actually doing. He spends most of his time spouting off about what the Dems should do different, obviously he is trying to cost Kerry votes. IF Nader really wanted Bush to go, he would be holding his nose and supporting Kerry, he would be at rallies saying "Vote for Kerry", not "Vote for ME!"

6. Vote trading is easy to freep
All states are battleground states. We really don't know what the outcome until the election is over.

I don't see why Nader should run at all. Kerry is willing to do most of what Nader is asking for.

8. From his own mouth after the past election...

"I'm just amazed that people think I should be concerned about this stuff. It's absolutely amazing. Not a minute's sleep do I lose, about something like this - because I feel sorry for them. It's just so foolish, the way they have been behaving. Why should I worry?" -- Common Dreams 4-03-2001

...

In a recent Time magazine interview, when asked if he felt any regret about the 2000 election, Nader responded, "No, because it could have been worse. You could have had a Republican Congress with Gore and Lieberman." -- Time Magazine, 8-05-02

Last week he said voters in swing states should come to his rally's but vote for Kerry. This week he criticized the Green party for saying the same thing. :eyes:
