5. It's really up to the press, too

Since Kerry is waiting so long, he's building up all this *tension* and so he has to come out with a big candidate -- Edwards, Clark, Dean or one of the Clintons. He wouldn't be building this much suspense to annouce Gephardt as his running mate. IF it's a biggie, then the press will seize it like the second coming -- or at least they could -- whether or not they will will be a matter for the ages.

I still say they're waiting as long as possible, and will build a momentum, going something like this:

9/11 Commission slams Bush

I suspect they'll adjust things for economic figures and Iraq violence.
