anyone form Boston ? Menino needs to shup up and focus on the party
why is the mayor crying about kerry refusing to cross the picket line NOW ? i know the picketing had more to do with their personal issues with menino, but it was in the better interests of the entire democratic party for Kerry not cross the line so they would not be picketing during the convention.doesn't he know the entire democratic party and the convention would be better off without them picketing during that time ? he is taking this way to personally. kerry not attending wasn't a snub against the mayor it was to make sure it could help prevent their picketing during the convention.

see link below for news article on this.

1. I have no idea. I'm not a huge fan of him, I also have no dislike towards
him. Maybe he want's to seem independant of the party for some reason? Maybe he'd like Kerry's senate seat?

2. He Has Been A Good Mayor But
with economic problems, he has had more struggles of late.

Lots of problems with the unions, the money is not there for these contracts and he is the guy that has to stand up and say no. If it is a principled no, then Menino should not be so personal about it.

It is upsetting that this particular union leans republican. That Kerry refused to cross the picket line of this union was something he had to do (imagine the press coverage if he did cross the line), but at the same time you felt it was a set up (by the union).

What I don't get is why the mayor is so pissed off. He is being very small it seems to me. It was a speech for heaven's sake - it is not like Kerry reneged on supporting legislation or failed to deliver something to the City. It just seems very childish to me.

Also, I heard that Romney had originally told the mayor he couldn't speak due to a conflict - and then it was Romney who called the mayor and offered to fill in for Kerry. So Romney seized the moment to look like the hero, and Menino let him do it.

3. Kerry would have been burned at the stake if he crossed the picket line
he had NO choice in the matter.

Menino needs to STFU.
