Question for DUers who visit Drudge Report and watch Fox News regularly
How do you do it?

I don't have the stomach for either one.

Drudge is such a brazen liar that I refuse to visit his website, and Fox News is so unapologetically biased in their coverage, if I watch for more than 30 seconds, I usually want to throw something at the TV.

4. You have to keep your eye on the enemy----
otherwise you don't know where they are coming from. Most of the time I think most of the stuff is hilarious, idiocy knows no bounds.

6. Thanks to those brave souls who have the stomach,
to do it, because I don't. Yes, I want to know the enemy, but I can only take them in very limited amounts before I begin to hurl.

13. Ditto!
At one time I could venture over but those days are over. I get too emotionally drained so I read some of the posts here. I can barely watch any mainstream news stations anymore, sad to say.

5. I can't believe what I'm watching
Especially HANNITY & colmes. I sit in utter disbelief when I watch that show and O'Reilly. But, I never make it thru the entire program. I have to turn it after a few minutes because of the lies spewing from their mouths.

Kudos for the V-chip AFTER ALL!

Try to steer clear of MSNBC too, but haven't blocked it ... yet.

10. MSNBC is OK sometimes and I always watch Olberman and Hardball.
Tweety can piss you off sometimes but I don't expect to agree with everything he says and there are not a lot of shows focusing on politics.

14. I lost any interest in MSNBC long ago...
.. I was watching a news <?> program and two guys were talking about Clinton doing-something-or-other.

The first guy asked the second guy, "What do you think President Clinton is thinking right now <about their topic>?"

Okay pass as news someone's thoughts about the thoughts of someone else just hit me as the most lamest discussion ever. First off, one can't KNOW what Clinton is thinking, then throw in another layer of someone else's THINKING about what Clinton is THINKING.........

it was an epiphany at that moment, we now have NewsEntertainment, not News... and Fox News has carried it even further to the extreme.

Sad when that happens.

9. I never watch Fox News, but I do visit DrudgeReport
for the reason that he has some juicy gossip that sometimes turns out to be true.

11. I AM RETIRED NOW
but having been a part of the mainstream media for 45 years, I know how we used to get our news stories......from the fabled "horses mouth". But now, with the internet.....websites like Drudge's have become the repository for tips and such. Unfortunately, much of mainstream media gets its news tips from morons like Drudge. Equally as unfortunate is the fact that all too often, the young man-streamers don't have the experience to spot the bullshit that Drudge puts forward.
I learned long ago that for silly stories like a woman giving birth to a frog, Drudge is fine but never never never trust Drudge for anything else because he never checks the validity of the stories sent to him. Thats why he has been caught with his pants down so often.
How do I stomach visits there? I can only take him in small doses or to look up the latest from some columnist. But I know what Drudge is......a puppet for the neo-cons, the freepers and other bottom feeders.

12. Brit Hume cracks me up
He's such a smug sonofabitch.

He's so damn partisan, but he'd never admit it.

15. I send Drudge anti-Bush breaking news links for laughs
Edited on Wed Jun-30-04 01:51 PM by RatTerrier
He's got a little box on his page for it.

So far, he's linked two articles I've sent him (or I think it was from me).

Of course, he usually blows it all off. Like when I sent him several links (one even from NYT) about Bush's new anti-Kerry ad. Never mind he went apeshit about the original MoveOn contest submission. After that, I had proof (if I didn't have it before) of who his daddy really is.

I recommend everyone do this. At least it might clutter his inbox a little.

For news scoops, go here: http://www.wonkette.com . Less partisan bullshit.

16. I can watch sometimes
I cannot watch the ejits on their morning show. I have never seen such lying twits anywhere else before. I definitely cannot watch Slannity and colmes. I do try to look at O'Lielly some, but he usually says something so outrageous or untruthful that I end up changing the channel. No way I can stomach an entire hour of that blowhard.
