Woodmen of the World (Insurance) endorses the "God" in the.....
pledge of allegiance

-snip-

This is an editorial by the CEO, Jim Mounce:

"This patriotic tradition, known and loved by generations of Americans, has recently been placed in jeopardy. In 2002, a ruling by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals claimed that Congress acted unconstitutionally in 1954 when it added the phrase "under God" to the Pledge. In a two-to-one decision, the Court ruled that the inclusion of the phrase amounted to a government endorsement of religion.

Last October, the United States Supreme Court agreed to place the case on its docket for a future hearing. The Pledge holds a special place in our hearts, and it is my hope that the Court will rule that all Americans can continue to recite it just as we have for the past 50 years."

Has your insurance company taken a view on such social issues yet?

6. This was the empty, vacuous company . . .
This was the empty, vacuous company Jack Nicholson worked for in "About Schmidt" just before he began his empty, vacuous retirement.

Watch for them to fold in the next couple of years thanks to Chimpy's stupid economic policies. Then listen for the caterwauling about how unfair life is!

8. Idiots
No one is trying to take away their right to say "under God". They can walk the streets 24/7 babbling "undergodundergodundergod" for all anyone cares. What is at issue is whether or not such a religious proclamation can be government sanctioned.

9. Woodmen of the World's god is very weak....
It would seem to me that an omnipotent, all-powerful God would exist outside of the word "God." Conservatives often complain that when the word "God" goes away, somebody took him- out of schools, out of the supreme court, etc.

Well, if your god is so weak that he can be kidnapped, perhaps you need to re-evaluate just what it is that you believe.
