Folks, I BEG YOU - TALK TO PEOPLE My Repub Neighbor Is Going To See F9/11

just walked over cause i let his dog in the other night (she was scared of the fireworks and they were out later than they thought) so I went over to make sure i didn't overstep my bounds.

i did NOT and he thanked me over and over again.

we got to chatting. he is my age (30's) with a couple of kids (good MA Catholic) and he noticed my parents over this weekend.

anyway, mentioned that i took mom and dad to see F-9/11. he started asking questions. now, he isn't a rabid repuke (that i know of) but he told me that he WAS a repub and voted for Bush.

i described the movie to him, was VERY OPEN that it is one-sided but mentioned all of the FACTS

he asked a bunch of questions about it. he doesn't know about the Saudi ties, nor all of the oil company contacts etc...

we talked for about 20 minutes. i asked him if he would see the movie. i asked him to come over for a beer afterwards to ask me any questions.

he and his wife agreed to see it on SATURDAY (3:30 pm showing - they looked up the show times and called the baby sitter while i was in their living room). we are having him over on MONDAY for dinner (after we get back from Maine) to "discuss" it.

GODDAMMIT JUST TALK TO PEOPLE!!

because Republicans I work with are interested, but don't have any "real" friends to go with them, so they keep asking me. I'm taking three girls from work to see it tomorrow (my fifth time). I'm sure doing my part for his box office ratings.

I got two friends to acknowledge that this President does not represent them. They won't vote for Kerry as of the 4th, but they will not vote for Bush. They are both furious at Bush and haven't even seen F 9-11.

Imagine when I inform them. All we have to do, is show the info. The rest is done. The media has brainwashed people. This is Bush's #1 weakness. TRUTH.

I also have Craig'slist clamouring with converts. All I do is post articles and say a few words of my own... Thank you DU and the check is on the way. Sorry it took so long, but being unemployed for so long put me close to bankruptcy.

disenchanted with Bush because of his immigration policy announcement (what happened to that? did it die?)
But this friend is very pro-war. Be interesting to see how he feels about that after the movie.

7. I do! I was on a Greyhound this holiday weekend..

going to Richmond, Virginia from New York and whenever I would get in a conversation I would weave in how good F9/11 is. I heard People all over the buses talking about bush and how "he wasn't even elected"! I was smiling and giving approving nods.

THis guy from Canada was the most voracious anti bush person heard but they get realtime news up there.

10. I conducted a somewhat drunken Kerry rally this weekend :|

Sort of and completely by accident...LOL

We went to an old friend's house in a very rural "bush country" type of an area on the 4th, to a small backyard type party.

My friend and her husband have totally converted to the anyone but bush camp over the last couple of years, but their neighbors as recently as last year, were all bush supporters.

My friend and I don't see each other that often and got pretty tipsy as well as loud -- We were in a bush bashing frenzy, but we had gone into the house, where we thought we were not being heard.

Apparently we were louder than what we thought and to my shock one by one people that I thought were big right wingers started coming into the house and chiming in!

None of them knew squat about bush and Saudi, they hadn't seen F911 but they still didn't like the bush regime and think he needs to go.

By the time I got done filling them in on what they didn't know they were TOTALLY appalled. Several said they would definitely be trying to go and see F911 and I had people yelling Kerry in 04 by the time they left (LOL)

You are dead on...I find if you talk to people (even if they appear to be right wingers)sometimes they will really surprise you!

It's like everyone is afraid to say anything against the fuhrer,
so no one "goes there"
