Poll question: Are you happy with Kerry choosing Edwards? |
|
Edited on Tue Jul-06-04 08:34 PM by Cascadian
Are you happy or should I say relieved that John Kerry picked John Edwards as his VP running mate? There had been talk that Dick Gephardt or Bob Graham would be picked but it looks like Kerry may have helped his own campaign by bringing in Edwards.
Your turn!

I really hate that BOTH Kerry AND Edwards voted for the Iraq war. I still shake my head at the thought that they could not/would not refuse to play along with the CON game by BushCo. For that reason, I have my doubts about them but remain open minded. They get my vote because my dog would do a better job than the current White House resident. However, Kerry and Edwards will have to earn my respect and trust.

I liked Edwards in the primaries. He seems like a good guy, and he's got spark. :bounce: I like his populism. http://www.wgoeshome.com

4. I would be happier if the choice was Clark............. |

but I'm very pleased with Edwards.
Besides, I like the fact that repub and freeper heads are exploding because Edwards is also good-looking ;^)

But not really tickled pink, either. I think Edwards is a bit of a lightweight; I would have preferred someone with solid foreign policy credentials like Clark or Graham, though I'm glad it wasn't Gephardt. Even so, I'll do whatever I can to support the ticket. If Edwards can charm the voters, good for him. Whatever it takes to unload the hideous Bush Regime.

Dean was my kinda guy, but I accept that my mom likes Edwards for looks, my dad likes his Southern son of a millworker story, and so will millions of others. WE'VE GOT IT!
Edited for pronoun usage.

I started out a Dean Supporter but I go where we are now & this team can hopefully get this country headed in the right direction.
Already on State TV (Fox) they are talking about Edwards lack of experience.
It seems to me all we have to do is take a look at where the Bush Team Experience got us. Don't see how Bush & his VP can run on their record & experience.

if they admitted their mistakes and learned from them.
But they won't so they can't.
Kerry and Edwards, a winning team.
Shrub and the Evil One want to run on optimism, try some of Edwards' optimism.

As much as I admire and respect Kerry, I was still afraid that the DLC might push him into shooting himself in the foot with a poorer choice. Oh, and I ran over to the library and got the Edwards book, "Four Trials," this morning, so many thanks to the DUer who posted it before there was a waiting list to reserve it.

but I don't feel the way I felt the first time I saw Clinton and Gore together. But maybe I never will, because that was a "now it's OUR turn" moment.
Edwards is OK, but I was hoping for a less obvious and more interesting choice. Edwards is a pretty face, which could help since everybody seems to think Kerry is "dour." For my money he doesn't bring much besides the "looks good on TV" quality. But he doesn't hurt the ticket. Kerry has plenty of experience, so he didn't need somebody to bring some weight to the ticket. I didn't see a lot of evidence that Edwards was strong in the south, so I'm not sure he's going to bring much from there.
I'm neutral, but a little disappointed that it wasn't someone more interesting.
Let's just say I'm finding it a safe but not inspired choice.

.... was not my first choice but I happily defer to Kerry's political skills. I think Edwards is a class act and can't do anything but help our cause.
Color me happy :)

picked Edwards, I finally got a feeling that we WILL win in November. My fondest wish won't be realized, of course, and that is to see the whole gang, along with Frist, Hastert, DeLay & co, led out of Washington in chains.

Edwards was the best choice, I do not see any reason a real Democrat would not like him.
He brings in the southern vote, and he is a smart guy who can debate like an expert. Plus he is a trial lawyer who kicked some corporate ass and became a millionaire, you gotta love that, the corporate fat cats hate his guts too, lol.
He is the perfect Democrat in my book.
