Should Smoking be banned in "indoor public places"?

By that I gov't buildings like hospitals, school/college buildings, and corporate places like bars and mcdonalds.

I figure many will want to not go extreme yes/no so I left options for those too.

I think you can still smoke in certain dorm rooms but other than that restaurants/bars/clubs/hospitals/corporate buildings, etc. are all smoke free.

BTW, even in this adult video store I sometimes go to, it also recently went smoke free. I go once in a while to buy a flick.

4. I voted yes, and I am a smoker

the thing is, I remember when I wasn't and I hated the smell. I want to be more thoughtful and considerate. I may never quit, or maybe I will, but I want to protect the rights of those who do not choose to smoke. If I can't do without a cig for however long I am at a city council meeting, well, shoot me now.

The only place I know that you can smoke almost anywhere you want is Las Vegas - where I am - except for maybe bars - you can't smoke in any public places - I can't speak for bars because I haven't been to one lately....

7. I quit smoking ~45 years ago,

and like all other non-smokers, I now detest the smell of tobacco smoke. Still, I'd like to see all the above places make all (reasonable) attempts to "accomodate" the smoker, without infringing on us non-smokers.

I don't have a problem with smoking being banned in most places. But when you start banning it in bars, well, that is just beyond ridiculous.

If a non-smoker wants a smoke-free drink, let him find a non-smoking bar - I'm sure many hotels offer them. But IMHO, banning smoking in a bar is just crazy, why not ban drinking while you're at it?

9. Private businesses should be able to choose

We would then have smoking and non-smoking bars, for example, and whichever you are you would then know which bar to avoid. Of course, this would be mostly for restaurant/club/bar scenarios than anything else, since in this way one can choose to work at or patronize either a smoking or non-smoking establishment.
