does he call Saddam a dictator? Isn't that a complement, coming from Bush?

Wouldn't it be better for Iraq and the world if the dictator was still in charge? Wouldn't the Iraqis have water, electricity, homes, life?

You know, this is one time I agree with Bush. Yes, George, a dictatorship would have been better than the "freedom" they have now.

If you feel a dictatorship is better for us, why not for them, also?

1. I believe he said it would be easier.
But then he's always looking for the easy way out: Blame someone else. So why not just go the dictatorial route? It's not like he hasn't had plenty of bloody-handed dictators over for dinner at the White House, after all.

2. Bushie makes those little slips of the tongue.
Popular mantra is that Amurikans don't like dictators. Saddam bad, bad man. But dictatorship good if you have benevolent dictator like himself. Then Bush gets message from God, dictatorship is good if it's Bush.

5. It's not a slip of the tongue.
I believe he's actually said that at least 3 times. He seems to think it's a funny joke :puke:

4. As recently as January
"It's not a dictatorship in Washington, but I tried to make it one in that instance."
