Rendell comments at Clinton book signing re Edwards...

SEEN & HEARD AT SIGNING

THERE’S USUALLY more than one thing going on at a Bill Clinton event. Some things seen and heard at yesterday’s book signing:

-snip-
ov. Rendell wasn’t in the book line, but he warmed up the crowd when Clinton was late by taking audience questions and offering some blunt political wisdom.
He said he thought Kerry’s vice presidential pick matters more in the post 9-11 world, and questioned the buzz about Sen. John Edwards’ campaign charisma.

"If (Sen.) John Edwards is such an electrifying campaigner, why didn’t he win one of 28 primaries?" Rendell asked. His answer: Edwards seems too inexperienced, and voters want gravitas in their president.

He also said Al Gore’s status had helped him win the popular vote, Rendell said, despite running a "wretched campaign." Rendell, you’ll remember, was party chair at the time.

-snip-

Was Rendell vetted and rejected? what's gotten into him?

I really hate the way democratic elected officials attack each other, this was not the time or place Mr. Rendell.

2. I was shocked to read this article...
also remember it was Rendell who told Gore to quit on natioal tv..Rendell was the head of the DNC at that time..I wonder if his comments was such due to his own aspirations of running for president in '08??

4. Rendell in support of Edwards today--
In a conference call with reporters, Democratic Gov. Ed Rendell, who voiced doubts about Mr. Edwards a day earlier, said the senator would make up for his lack of hands-on foreign policy experience with his intelligence and aptitude, the Associated Press reported. He said Mr. Edwards has more experience after six years in the Senate than Mr. Bush had before he was elected president in 2000.
