How many Humvees have we lost in Iraq?
It would be real interesting to know the stats... does anyone know?
And how much do they cost? I would suspect a couple hundred thousand a piece but that is out of my ass.

3. It's a crying shame
it could have been used to feed hungry children and give them medical care instead of killing them......

...14 months ago, that that is 425 or more of these vehicles. The armored version which protect soldiers from gunfire, but will still be blown apart by mortar fire can easily run over $150,000 including all the computer gear and firepower. Our fighting men and women though are most vulnerable in the Humvee, because they are sitting ducks and perfect targets.

As for how much the war in Iraq has cost the U.S so far, nobody knows for sure. But, the administration has requested over $170 Billion so far and much of the money for rebuilding Iraq $20 Billion, can't be accounted for. The cost for the over 5,000 seriously wounded military personnel who are disabled and paraplegic will go on for years, the cost for the dead, there is no price that can be put on that.
