Repubs call everyone to the left of Attila the Hun "liberals"... |
|
They don't tell you what these "liberals" really stand for. But, you are supposed to know it is "bad". "Liberal" has become a codeword for the Repub Party - just as at one time "states rights" were code words. They have no need to explain what they mean. You are supposed to read between the lines. God forbid that someone ask them to explain what they think a "liberal" is??
But, it is nothing new for the Republicans. They have resorted to this type of character assassination for decades now. And they accuse the Democrats of being mean and "hateful" when they are forced to fight back. Because Republicans refuse to talk about issues. Their primary means of winning and retaining seats is to personally destroy their opponents. That is what they do well.
And their supporters fall right in line. Like sheep before the slaughter, they bleep in unison at whatever they are told to believe. They have no idea what a "liberal" is but they know it must be bad since they are told to believe that. They fail to see that all the best things in their own personal lives was most likely the result of a liberal policy at one time or another. They bite the hand that feeds them - ignorant of their own purpose in life.

1. At my conservative workplace,I just go ahead & admit I'm a 'dirty liberal' |
|
and start listing all the horrible things we 'dirty liberals' believe in...like a healthy clean environment, good education for our children, rights to privacy, etc. Then I end my litany with something like "Aren't I just a horrible person. I don't know how you can stand to work with me"
Usually gets a few chuckles and a few glares. But I've found that humour is the only way to survive there.
