Trust the Process?
Edited on Wed Jul-07-04 10:05 AM by indigobusiness
After the last election, it seems naive to think the high-road is the one to take, but, maybe where we are today proves it. Just desserts...and all that.

What I'm trying to get at here is all the manipulative thoughts about the campaign surfacing on DU. Manipulation is endemic to campaigns, but it is a little creepy when it seeps into and saturates the thinking of the people.

Machiavellianism strikes deep, it has found fertile ground on the right-hand side...and is sending runners into the left. That is creeping me out.

If Michael Moore teaches us anything it is to just get the facts on the table, the people will move to the beat of the truth. Sure, you can have your own opinion and dance your own dance, but harmony will prevail when the light shines in and all the cockroaches run for the shadows.

Things are so divided in America right now, just exposing the Machiavellian spin will be enough to dump this bunch in the White House. Don't concern yourselves with the dark ways things are spun, just help to expose the facts in all their glory. ie Edwards lawyering for victims of personal injury is an asset when seen in its true light.

Let it all hang out and let the chips fall where they may.

1. Maybe I should clarify that
By "just desserts", I meant that with all the subterfuge and duplicity that it took to steal an election...look where it got them. They have destroyed themselves. While I am quite sure we would have been in far better shape, as a country and as a planet, with Gore as President...we couldn't have done more to expose the black heart of the Republican party than they have with their own colossal, corrupt, and misguided folly.

3. Of course
...but there is a lot of discussion about the concern of the Edwards-as-lawyer spin. Which doesn't concern me personally, but was a good example for the larger point I was trying to make. Which is to focus on truth, not spin-doctoring. Let them hang themselves with their own rope. Rise above that crap and don't let that way of thinking seep into the thought process.

6. I don't have you on ignore...
and I understand what you are saying. I am starting to believe that letting go of trying to control things I have no control over might be the best policy. At least on a personal level.

I do think that their lies, deception and evil will do them in eventually - I just hope it happens sooner rather than later.

7. That makes 3 of us.
My point was along the lines of Nietzche's warning that warns against warring with monsters that the monster doesn't rub off on you...and staring too long, into the abyss the abyss stares into you.

The correct quote is here:

Thanks for your response.

Let it be.
