Prayer will make that scratch better. Which is actually a misconception. In Leviticus, that book they love to quote, it says straight out sores must be dressed. Unless of course, by issue from the skin they mean gonorrhea. It's hard to tell with even using various translations.
However, issue from the skin does make one unclean. They're supposed to bathe, dress it and then sacrifice a few birds and depending on the ailment, either bathe in the bird's blood, or clean the house with the bird's blood. Gee, and I thought blood on the walls was a bio-hazard.
But I do hope the extreme right wing is the exception, not the norm. Those people scare me. As does the extreme left wing. Both extremes are about a hair away from touching, even if the religious ideology is different, the political policies are the same.
We're evil in the eyes of the right wing, as they've come to believe all Democrats are communists. That if the Democrats get the power back, they're going to end up in trailer parks after being taxed to death. I guess it's better that the middle class continue to shrink and end up in trailer parks, while tax breaks for corporations and the rich continue.
But getting back to your post, I have questions I like to ask the people who follow the Bible blindly. Who was there to record what went on in the Garden of Eden, why is it only in Jewish lore that Adam's first wife, Lilith is ever mentioned, how did Adam and Eve's son's manage to go off to the city to find wives if Adam and Eve where the first humans and all life was in the garden and finally, did Adam and Eve have navels? Navels would indicate they were born of woman. No navels would have made them imperfect human beings.
Bible beaters also love the King James Version, which is the worst version out there, as far as translation goes. According to scholars, that is.
Another question I just thought of is, God put the Tree of Knowledge in the garden. Adam and Eve ate of it, after she was tempted by the serpent. (Yeah, everything in the bible puts the onus on the women.) OK, they covered themselves immediately, as they realized their nakedness was wrong. God wasn't pleased. Now, if nakedness was wrong and they only discovered this by eating the fruit, does that make God a pervert who likes looking at naked bodies? Think about it. He didn't bother to tell them their nakedness was wrong. He spent his time looking at them. That tells me God is a porn freak and approves of pornography. So shouldn't we all become nudists for God? Or am I just looking for a reason to run around naked in the summer heat?
We can go further. Think of all the women who are abused by men who tell the judge they're following the word of God. That women are second class citizens, because the bible says they are. That women are supposed to submit to man. So we liberals, who tried to get the ERA passed, who have been fighting for women's rights since the Suffragette movement are all evil and going against God's word.
We believe in rights for homosexuals and lesbians. That of course, is also against the bible, so we are evil for that too. We're trying to turn the world into Sodom and Gomorrah. Whereas, most scholars disagree that any homosexuality was going on in the story. That was something that came about when the King James Version came around. What they don't realize is, Paul also came out against heterosexual sex in Corinthians. Paul was against ALL sex.
Now, those who claim to follow the word of God are going to be burning in hell with us liberals when their judgment comes. According to Paul: 6: 9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 6:10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

What adult hasn't fornicated? According to Paul, it's even wrong in marriage. So have your kids and then repent and become born again in his image if you want to see heaven. Say goodbye to ever having sex again.

Basically, what Paul said contradicts Mark, who said you just have to accept Jesus to be saved. According to Paul, we're all damned anyway, including 99.999% of conservatives.
