Do we hit the media in their wallet? |
|
Finally? I was reading the threads about "taking back the media," and it all boils down to CASH. If DUers could organize a BOYCOTT (as much as I hate them) of daily papers, combined with a letter-writing campiagn to the advertisers in those papers, the media companies would be brought to their knees.
We don't NEED teevee news or newspapers anymore, we're on the internet, dammit! And forget the "alternative" weeklies...they have a different revenue model, but most are actually owned by some big news outfit anyway. For instance, in Connecticut, The Tribue Media Company owns the two biggest-city dailies, plus the state's only NBC affiliate, plus the WB affiliate...PLUS the SIX editions of the "alternative" Advocate chain of "progressive" tabloids which are circulated from the New York line all the way into Vermont. So just strike at the revenue streams that will really hurt the right-wing dailies and broadcasters. Just as we do with Rush and Hannity, post an advertiser index we choose to write to or boycott.
SOMETHING. ANYTHING!

1. The Imperial Amerikan Media doesn't require anyone to actually read it |
|
Just like Baseball didn't require fans back in 1994.
Just a handful of Die Hards and a Pravda/PR Mecanism to trumpetr "Nothing to See Here. Move Along."
