My little, old, sweet, church going, Southern Mom just wrote "F-- you"
on a piece of note paper (probably Crane) and put it in the self addressed stamped envelope to the RNC...

I am forty; I have NEVER heard my mother talk like that in her entire life!

Are anyone else's elderly relatives acting strange since Edwards joined Kerry???

Granted, we are native North Carolinians, and I knew she couldn't stand Bush, but wow!

21. I think we need to send as many elderly folks to the senate floor as
possible. I worked for years as a case manager for senior citizens. These folks are angry (very angry) I have seen many cry because of the stolen election in 2000 and it's breaking their hearts to see what is happening to our country. They were not conned by Bush and his crime family. We all need to get the money and busses together and get as many seniors as possible on their way to Washington and let them give Bush and his crime family a good old fashion ass whipping.
ELECT KERRY AND EDWARDS 2004!!!!

7. Seriously! I mean she was giddy when
she called to tell me about it!

The RNC sent her one of those stupid "I can't believe you have forgotten us and we want a donation" letters....(why they are wasting their time with anyone in my family is beyond me) and Mom just snapped, I guess!

I was so shocked I had to call Michael at work; he thinks it's hilarious!

Needless to say, I have been removed from the list. They actually sent me an autographed numbered photo of that little jackass on the ship...when he was playing pilot...

My God.

22. "How Nice."
Well, I'm a Yankee, but I was told by some of my Southern friends that "My, My, My" could fill in as the old "Fuck You!" for the gentrified and countrified Southern Belles!

6. WTG!!!
Sometimes enough is enough. Seems like Mrs. Misinformed01 reached her breaking point and nothing but the F-bomb would suffice to vent her outrage.

I've been thinking about my deceased gramma a lot lately. She was also sweet, demure, never missed mass on Sunday and was utterly unflappable. However, she also had her limit. That sweet old lady in F9/11 who laid it out against Bush* reminded me a great deal of her.

Of all the demographics in the country I think the seniors are least taken in by the charlatans who are running the show right now.

and she feels like Bush is especially bad for African Americans and the public school system (again, retired teacher) but, I damn sure never saw the "F" thing coming!

ROTFLMAO! I just talked to a preacher today who voted for Bush and he was REALLY PISSED! He was foaming at the mouth about Cheney's remark! We gave the bastards the rope and it's hanging them for us!

16. Interesting reply from your pastor. I wonder how many
voters did the same thing. I mean, they were pissed at Clinton and decided to give the Pubs a chance. After all, they kept hearing how much better they could do if just given the opportunity. Well, they did, and they're not happy with the results! That's why I don't really believe this election is going to be that close. I've just heard way too many people who said things like, I thought I'd give then a chance, or I didn't realize they'd be THIS BAD.

27. The good Reverend said that nobody in his church was going
to vote for Bush this time! And yes your are exactly right about Clinton being the reason they gave Bush a chance! Clinton's adventure and the gun deal cost Al Gore Wv last time! I doubt Bush will carry Wv this fall! The unemployment alone will do Bush in here! The preacher was also mad about Bush lying all the time!

that yelling "f*ck off" or "go f*ck yourself" whenever I see those scumbags on TV has become a bad habit.

That "Crane" stationery thing was too funny. Good for your Mom. My Mom has been a roaring liberal since I was old enough to know it.. Gloria Stienam (sp?) was my idol when I was in Jr. High.. I even had the glasses!

Good for your Mom! Edwards is just too cool for the room!

29. My 80 year old mom called at the crack of dawn yesterday
thrilled about Edwards! She is a dem and always votes but she didn't like Kerry and wasn't got to work for him this year or send money.

I think she'll be back knocking on doors this year with Edwards on the ticket, and I bet she'll send the full $2K too.

30. My 85 year old mom just told me that whenever B*S*
appears on TV, she shouts out, "You goddam sonofabitch!" and mutes the sound. My 88 year old Dad saw F911 even before I saw it. His response -
"I hate Bush and Cheney even more." We live in Missouri. I've got a couple of cool swingers for parents.
Keep the Faith.

35. Reminds me of my mother a few years ago,
Edited on Wed Jul-07-04 03:36 PM by geniph
I was over visiting her - she was about 78 at the time. She was sitting crocheting a baby blanket, the very picture of a demure grandmother, with the TV on while we sipped from our dainty china teacups. One of the infernal anti-choice bills was on the ballot that year, and one of their TV ads came on, with all the rhetoric about sweet little babies and whatnot. I held my breath, not knowing whether my mother had gone and turned rightwing in her old age (she's the mother of six and the grandmother of...jeebus, I don't even KNOW how many nieces and nephews I have now). She looked up from her crocheting at the TV and growled, "That's the biggest crock of shit I ever heard in my life!" and went back to her baby blanket.
