Poll: Edwards viewed favorably
Inexperience seen as a weakness
Wednesday, July 7, 2004 Posted: 1:04 PM EDT (1704 GMT)

(CNN) -- Tuesday's selection of Sen. John Edwards as the Democratic vice presidential candidate is being viewed favorably by most American voters, according a new poll, although they do see the one-term senator's limited experience in political office as a liability.

A CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll, taken Tuesday, found that 64 percent of registered voters surveyed called the choice of Edwards excellent or pretty good, while 28 percent termed it only fair or poor.<snip>

Still, two-thirds of the registered voters queried said the selection of Edwards would have no impact on their vote in November, while about a quarter said it would make them more likely to vote for presumptive Democratic nominee Sen. John Kerry..... (Cheney"s) favorable rating was 43 percent, with 44 percent viewing him unfavorably and 13 percent unsure.<snip>

However, 57 percent still said they thought Edwards was qualified to serve as president if called upon to fill the office, compared to 29 percent who said he was not.<snip>

The poll showed that 67 percent of voters surveyed said his work as a trial lawyer was a strength, while only 27 percent viewed it as a weakness.<snip>

4. Judy the Wolf tried to spin it
but her shit was bogus.

First, Kennedy popped her bubble by praising the readiness of Edwards to be President. He was to the point and even though she tried, she got no where IMO.

Then, they showed the survey(about 1 pm PST) and the spin went no where IMO. The 57 % of people that believe that he can be President put the pin in the bubble.

Now she is talking to the State Party Chairmen from Ohio. Democrat said they are delighted with the ticket and with Edwards. Robert Bennett, Rethug, said it was like the Dukakis/Benson ticket of 1988. Said the ticket was too liberal for Ohio.

Then the Wolf put on a pollster. Pollster said the latest poll had Kerry 10 percentage points ahead in Ohio.

Rethug party chair said that the Demos would get "a little bounce for a few weeks." He went on to say that" when Ohio learns of the Edwards record, they will change." Said , "JK/JE are out of touch with Ohio voters."

Demo. Chair said that Kerry/Edwards has the working class in their vision. He said that Edwards stands up for the middle class.

The Wolf asked the Rethug what about all of the job loss. He said that they have added 5,000 new jobs! Said that K/E ticket has not created one job.

Demo said ... "the JOBS are at Mickey D's and Taco Bell!!" ( Loved it)
Repub said jobs were high tech jobs and that jobs in Ohio are "moving on strong."
