CONDI RICE FOR PRESIDENT IN 2008?
I just saw this on a Republican site. Say What? Would she have a chance in hell? Against Hillary? Now wouldn't that be wierd?

1. in 2008 President Kerry will be running for reelection...
and Frist is planning to run, so I don't think Condi has a chance.

2. She'd have to run against an incumbent
named John Kerry (I hope!)

3. Frist?
Wants to run, too? But he has zero personality. I don't even think he is all that smart.

I hope Kerry and Edwards and running for re-election, too.

Bush Boy is a kiss-ass opportunist. The perfect puppet.

I can see this slimy punk in play for the GOP race.

5. Of course it depends...
On whether the right-wing would "lower" themselves to voting for a woman, esp a non-white one...

6. NO REPUGS. And not somebody that let our country be attacked and
lose over 3000 lives.
And helped launch an unjustified war... too much blood in those hands.

7. Yes and no. I suspect "no".
She's clearly brilliant and well educated (not the same thing). And (rumor has it) not nearly as conservative as shrub. And I wouldn't hate to see an African American woman get a nomination (though I'd like it to be on OUR side of the fence).

Why won't she do it? Well, she really isn't qualified (no governmental executive or legislative experience). If she wanted the job, she would have run in California either for Governor or Senate (and she would have had a pretty good chance of winning). With five or six years of that under her belt she MIGHT have made a run at the oval office - but VP is more likely.

Now I just don't see it. It's a Republican pipe dream. I've seen quite a few "I just want to win" Republicans speculating on a Powell/Rice ticket. And sure, they'd win the White House in a walk... but they could never win the NOMINATION. So it won't happen.

18. Repubs think that nominating her would bring home black votes
They obviously don't talk to many to ask their opinion of Condi.

20. Well, I'm not... so I wouldn't know.
But even if 70% of a demographic hate her (and her polls have been much better)... it's a dramatic improvement. It represents a tripling of support and a 2-4% shift in the overall electorate - that's massive.

That's one of the "problems" we have with such strong black support. It doesn't take much to look like dramatic growth in support when you start at 9%. If shrub goes from 9% to 12% in November he's going to look good to some pundits even though 88% would have voted against him.

You also forget the number of women who could shift - this is probably the larger demographic. Women who are generally conservative but turned off by the abortion stance of the right wing and/or the male dominated image of the Republican party. That could be HUGE.

But again - I don't expect it to happen. And without some other elected office under her belt I think it's impossible.

8. Interesting
but the Republicans haven't considered a woman for VP yet, so I doubt she would be a viable Presidential candidate. Maybe a VP candidate in 2008  .

9. Condi's political value is tainted permanently by the Iraq fiasco - even
if * wins. I don't think she is going anywhere politically. Plus she is annoying as hell.

17. She's Damaged Goods
She's done in political life. She runs for president on what? "Nobody could have imagined using planes as missiles!"? Who wants a president that weak and mealy mouthed. (Plus, it's now proven to be a lie, and we all know what Repubs think about lying to the American people. Or at least what they say they think.)

She's toast. It will NEVER happen.

19. Never. The Bushevik Masters are NOT going to turn the Empire
over to one of the Hated Races.

Condi and the rest of the Black KKK Members who aid and abet the Busheviks and are now being sent out to say and do the most horrible things ("Sloppy Seconds" "Even the explanation would be violating National Security").

But they will no more be allowed REAL POWER any more than Hitler would make a Jew, Reichsmarschall or the Mafia promote a Jewish Consigliere to Capo De Tutti Capi

"He/she isn't one of us," is what mafiosos, Nazis and Busheviks would say to such a LUDICROUS idea.

You don't have to worry about Sleezy being Emperor.

EVER.

21. It seemed likely not too long ago.....
But I think the image of her testifying before the 9/11 commission put this possibility to rest. She's on record saying she wants to be the commissioner of the NFL anyway.

22. No Way
She has no platform after the election - she's leaving even if Dumbya steals this one, too. So she won't go far.

Also the Repugs at large are inherently racist and anti-feminist. Even if she dances to their anti-affirmative action beat, she is relegated to talking head status on Fox etc.

There will be much speculation as the Repugs TRY to make themselves look tolerant - but as usual, it won't mean a thing.
