The Repubs would love to have a debate about VPs and national security and totally ignore the role of the president. That way, we never have to focus on the job that George W Bush is doing - we'll just focus on John Edwards or Dick Cheney. How conven-ient!

It's not about John Edwards - it's about George W Bush. And the terribly tragic job he is doing...He must be fired. And run out of town. It has gotten to the point where he cannot show his face in public. Any appearances are military or partisan gatherings, and even then, they are screened. What person in their right mind would choose a leader that is so despised that he cannot show his face in public?

1. Nice point kentuck. I've long wondered why most media don't
even comment on this, even in an oblique, sly way? Noting that the president only appears in front of clapping military drones or the American Enterprise Institute or the like, with some Orwellian message behind him "Jobs = strength" or some such. That this reflects a weakness of shrub compared to most other presidents.

2. It is also about John Edwards
and the Republicans are shaking in their boots

Did you see the speech that Edwards gave today?

It didn't matter what Edwards said. Just seeing the Kerry family and the Edwards family and little 4-year-old Jack Edwards said OPTIMISM. And energy and charisma and youth and vigor.

I hope that Kerry-Edwards win in a landslide.

3. I agree that people don't vote on vice president
but I think the chemistry between the two does affect how people vote. The two families interact like old friends, and it creates a great feeling of warmth.

Yeah, sorry, I'm practically high off the "frolicking in the meadow" pictures from this morning.

4. Edwards brings something to the Kerry campaign that is needed
Edited on Wed Jul-07-04 05:09 PM by Marianne
it is energy and it is optimism and it is hope from the youthful looking Edwards who knows how to talk and knows how to attack back and who has a wife that is intelligent and active with confidence in her own self.

The little family is also a positive. It gives an insight into the humaness of this ticket.

Where are the twin, sloppy dressing sluts who are supposedly contemplating working on their father's campaign?

Are they still cavorting around in Europe and do either of them have a real job?

Do you think that either of them being born rich and priveledged have considered that they even need a job? It looks to me as if the two of them intend to float along on their father's money, as did their mother.
