Edited on Wed Jul-07-04 06:44 PM by ann_coulter_is_a_man
i'd have to say bringing back the fairness doctrine and undoing some of the damage of the 96 telecommunications act

the media monoploy of the rightwing screamers is half of what got us all into this mess. limabugh, fox news, etc have done almost, if not more, damage to this country than chimpy himself.

and contrary to the myth, the fairness doctrine is not a threat to free speech. what is a threat is when a rightwing corporation (clearchannel, sinclair) buys up all of the stations and then uses the public airwaves to exclusively promote their agenda

taking back the media is the key to getting any kind of momentum for a progressive agenda

Primairly with the goal of putting their collective asses in a butt-pounding prison to deter future generations of crooked politicans.

12. agree 100%
Show the world we want cooperation and respect their ability to contribute to the worlds stability. By doing so, the US itself becomes a respected world leader that people want to see SUCCEED, not fail.

From the most objective point of view (all personal loathing aside), the single most important reason Bush needs to be dumped is that huge percentages of the world population simply want to see him fail. Everyone suffers when this is the case.

14. That's the one
A looong roundtrip crossing the globe. Short, but constructive meetings with just about anybody that counts on the world scene. Tell them that the US is back and then get down to business...

4. The FCC can do it-
it would not require an act of Congress.

In fact, the FCC can reinstate a whole range of media regulations that the corrupt Reagan administration repealed- including limits on commercial time (before Reagan, the broadcast media couldn't simply sell OUR public airwaves to "infomertial" producers for hours at a time).

Considering that the media will NOT be doing Kerry any favors, and will continue to lie about him and his policies no matter what he does, it make good political sense to limit their influence in every way possible.

8. The camps
They have to set up the "Re-education" camps for the Freepers. They'd be forced to listen to Barbra Streisand records and watch Sean Penn movies until they passed out. Then they would be forced to withdraw money from their 401ks every day to buy overpriced pints of Ben and Jerry's.
