"The republican party had better not take the Southern vote for granted!" |
|
Don't you think that line would sound great in John Edwards' accent?
They have taken it for granted, and MAYBE, just maybe, Kerry/Edwards can take advantage of their arrrogance and dismissal of southern economic concerns, thinking that pandering to the culture war people will be enough.
Tens of thousands have been laid off in the Carolinas since Bush took office, and his only proposal to help is to give MORE tax cuts to the ultra-rich.
What do you think? Could this be a meme that could cut through the overwhelmingly right-wing media chorus that blankets most of the South?

It makes sense and also evokes the fact that neither Cheney nor Shrub are really Southerners.

3. "I believe in the wisdom of the South" |

"to know when they're being pandered to. Contrary to your assumptions, Mr. Bush, Southerners are patriots, not religious zealots that will blindly follow you because you mouth a few platitudes and sling a little mud."
And we've already seen today that Edwards can REALLY deliver his lines. I am stunned at the jolt of energy he's giving this campaign.
