From a German “manning the rail” to Hungarians "dislike of Bush"
Extrapolate these two events and we have a fair idea how far the world’s respect of America has eroded during the Bush occupation of the White House.

On September 26, 2001, sailors aboard the German destroyer GFS Lujens performed a “manning the rail” ceremony normally reserved for high ranking dignitaries, such as Heads of State, to show support and solidarity for the United States following the 9/11 attacks.

(More information about this event can be found on the U.S. Navy web site link found under "Origins" on the Snopes page.)

Less than 3 years later, Hungarian schoolkids rank Bush high in “most disliked foreign personality” at 23%, behind Osama bin Laden at 16%. Adolph Hitler received 25%.

The survey of 34,000 students, aged 16-18, from 655 high schools showed Adolf Hitler was the most disliked foreign personality with 25 percent of the vote, followed by Bush with 23 percent and Bin Laden with 16 percent.

Thanks for the thread!)

Bush’s arrogance, greed, lies, and stupidity have done colossal harm to our reputation and standing in the eyes of the world. Kerry/Edwards will have their work cut out for them (and then some) to reverse the world’s opinions of us and make us once again respected in the global community.
