Michigan swings
Edited on Thu Jul-08-04 01:04 PM by capriccio
I'm surfing by Hardball last night...always surf by, never stop...until last night when it looks like he's interviewing Charlize Theron and knock me over if it's not the frickin' governor of Michigan. And after giving in to that oh-so superficial moment, I watch and see she's got it going in that Goodbye Columbus way too--you know: I love your mind.

Please tell me she's not a mirage.

1. No Mirage!
We need more women in gummint, even if they don't go as easy on the eyes as she does.

2. That's My Governor!
She makes me proud to be a Democrat, proud to be from Michigan.

Bragging rights.

Jennifer Granholm is my governor.

6. Mine too
Gov. Granholm is a breath of fresh air, especially after that fat-cheney, Engler.

She'd make a great President too if only she wasn't born in Ontario, Canada.

(I just wish she hadn't signed the bill allowing Mourning Dove hunting in the 9 counties along the MI/Ohio and MI/Indiana border. But I guess it's sort of an experiment and they'll revisit the issue in a couple of years.)

8. It's a Two-Year Thing
A fair compromise, in my opinion.

But I'm not 100% sure why everyone was making it such a big deal about it. Do we not have enough things to hunt in this state?

14. To Anybody but Bush
I have always voted for Gov. Granholm and have closely followed her career. When she caved on the dove bill she lost my vote. I will not vote for someone that promises something (she said she would veto it)and then goes back on her word. She should have let the voters decide but chose not to. She let me down, and I don't forget easily. She will never get a vote from me again, and she knows it. And as for it being an "experiment", that can be changed at any time because it is now out of her, and our hands.

3. You should meet her!
Jeez! Beauty queen looks/ former prosecutor and tough Attorney General with a heart of gold!

Charming, articulate, and she looks you in the eye when you're speaking. She's not looking around the room for someone more important, either.

7. If I were a man, I would be in love... she was so direct, so good,
slammed Tweety at his own game so gracefully... I also have a female governor but in terms of brain power, she does not compete with Michigan's governor.

9. can I believe my eyes?

A female politician in the US who got married and kept her name??

Between Canada and California, we seem to have produced a winner.

Well, from your perspective. She'd be a tad right-wing for us up here, I suspect. ;)

12. Boy I've heard of dumb down
But ugly down?

That official picture is clearly an attempt to not scare voters who prefer their elected officials look more like Dennis Hastert.
